Engineering college decisions: CWRU, Davidson, and more

Fair enough; I guess it was having all of this under the heading of “Engineering college decisions” that made it feel more cognitively-dissonant than the typical discussion in this vein.

I still think CWRU offers one of the better contexts for figuring this all out. He could, for example, start out in Engineering Physics. If he stayed in that major, it would include a specialization in one engineering discipline (options also include CS & data science), which could be chosen later. Or, he could pivot to the major in the engineering/CS discipline of choice… or pivot out of engineering into physics. This, to me, seems like exactly the sort of four-year path - with decision points built in - that is suited to the current desire to cover bases.
