I really thought my account was hacked. I did end up changing my password.
Sounds like a lot of people are affected. Hopefully it will resolve itself soon.
I did have to use laptop to get in. Email link on phone did not work.
Mine is working. I also needed to change my password, which was fine.

I encountered the same issues. I gave up and when I tried about a half hour later it magically worked. Was definitely worried my account had been hacked.
Mine is working again.
I didn’t need to change my password…just started working again.

I’m back in and did have to log in but it accepted my password (the same password I had before it went down!)
Social media flubs happen. No need to fret.

I finally got in using my original password. Glad to know it was a widespread issue and not just me.

Instagram working on my iPad, Facebook is not.
Both are working on my IPhone.
I did the same and the new pw I created didn’t hold. So your old one should work.
i manage the FB pages for my work (a local college). I have to login as myself to have access to those pages; and my heart was racing and i was breathing hard, thinking I had personally been hacked; and that the hacker would have access to my college’s pages! YIKES. was so thankful that it was an all-over outage.

My heart was beating super hard.
The site kicked me out. When I tried to log in it wouldn’t let me. I tried to change my pw by having it send me a sms to my phone. It wouldn’t do it. I then asked a code to be sent to my email, but then wouldn’t let me change my pw. At one point it wouldn’t even send code to my email.
I really thought someone had taken over my account.
I actually got my staff together to help me recover my account. Someone on the call googled and found the site was down. At that point I told them to all go back to work.

Did this outage also affect randomly eliminating some posts? I made 2 identical posts yesterday to private FB groups in which I belong. One posted fine. The other one “disappeared” after a few minutes. I tried a second time. It first showed as posted, then disappeared later.
I asked the administrator (whom I know) why it was deleted. He did not even see the post, and had no clue why or how it was deleted, but was able to override.
Anyone else have a similar issue? I’m wondering if the outage made a difference, as my post was only eliminated on one of the two pages.
My new one worked…I think!
Maybe they rolled back and lost some data.
Though I don’t use it anymore even for my work pages, Twitter/X is the best place to go when you suspect a website is down. Do a search for #thesitename - so today #facebook- and you’ll likely see that the page is down or whatever. Then You just go back and live life until it gets fixed.

@abasket except…Twitter/X was down for a lot of people too. And threads, and Instagram.
I didn’t see that Twitter was down. It was fine for me. The other three are all the same company.
