Also, quick question, does our high school need to send the transcript to Cornell or can we send it in the mix with all our stuff?

I’m pretty sure they want official transcripts so you should ask your high school to send it

Hey thanks for the answer FindmeFazo–wow I haven’t been on this page in some time… good luck everyone! Also guys, I don’t think HS transcripts are necessary-- Cornell only asks for the transcripts from all of the colleges attended…

Jeppy18 and Jtvheroxql,

I’m not sure where your TO is for, but ILR requests the official high school transcript. If you sent it when they asked for it with the Letter of Intent they should still have it.

@Shap95…yeah I reread the whole thing and I don’t know how I missed it initially but we do indeed have to send the high school transcript. Haha…I have obviously clearly read through and started the forms =.=;;

Hey everyone,

I sent in my forms about two week ago now and have not received any information regarding them receiving the documents. From previous CC threads I gathered Cornell sends out applicantIDs to check status updates on documents and such. Has anyone received this applicantID and/or heard back from admissions regarding the documents they’ve sent in?

Thanks!

Shap95,

My D sent her paperwork in 2nd week of Jan and she got received her App ID in last week of Jan (Thursday). But still it shows that some of the documentation they did not received it though, even though college sent it in 2nd week of Jan. She is thinking to call and find out sometime next week, if they don’t update it.

Goodluck13,

Thank you for your response. I guess I will wait another week to see if they send me an applicantID.

Goodluck13, the transfer option summary says that results are given out “April.” Where did you learn that we’d be getting results late March??

Shap95, I sent my application in last week Monday and I haven’t heard back either. A friend of mine sent hers in early January, but she hasn’t gotten any sort of response either. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about…

I did, however, get a weird email about a snowstorm in NY from a Pamela Tan.

FindmeFazo,

I remember reading it somewhere in CC. Even though they start GT results along with Regular decisions ( Last Thursday of the month), it will take a month or so after that, since they treat each case separately and also each school post their decisions separately.

FindmeFazo,

Thanks for your response. I also have read previous threads of guaranteed transfers (btw, anyone else notice the word “guaranteed” is misspelled in the title of the thread?) and decisions usually begin around the last week of March. If you have met your specific school’s GPA requirements and have taken the classes outlined in the TO you will find out late March early April. However if you do not meet the TO requirements, your TO application will be placed in the regular admissions pool and you will not find out until May or so.

It also depends on when they receive our Midterm Reports…because they explicitly stated that a decision will only be made once they see the tentative grades for the semester along with the other document (so I guess this is what makes it rolling decision as well because different colleges started at different times [I have only been in school for a week])–then it’s just a matter of waiting fingers crossed.

Shap95, haha I read all of the past threads after I got the decision last year (I literally have most of them bookmarked)

Should students on the quarter system submit their midterm report halfway through the current quarter (now) or wait til the end of the quarter (end of March)?

Hello!
I am thinking of maybe apply to Cornell for the fall.
I wanted to ask if their requirements for the majors are strict as they specify on the websites?
How do you guys think credit transfer will work at Cornell, especially with their core program for requirements of the general education classes?

Also would they accept the midterm reports later, after the deadline ?

Jtvheroxql- First semester when I was feeling nervous I would read the threads and it helped to calm me down. I am so done with waiting! I applied ED to Cornell over a year ago now, I just cannot wait to finally be there! Just 3 more weeks until I submit my midterm report and I can’t wait!

FindmeFazo- I would email the school your TO is for. For ILR they said around mid-March or so would be ideal but didn’t provide a strict deadline.

Snow15- This thread is for students that were offered guaranteed transfers in May. We were given specific requirements to follow to fulfill the transfer agreement. The classes we were told to take are basically the classes Cornell Freshmen take in our respective majors so we would not fall behind. I do not know much about those who actually have to apply to transfer such as yourself. You should try posting in the regular transfer group or getting in contact with the school for answers to your questions. As for the deadline, I am assuming for regular transfers it is a set deadline and must be met. Get in touch with transfer admissions at Cornell they are extremely helpful. Sorry I could not help you more.

I hope that everyone is having an excellent first year at their chosen college. I sent out my Transfer application the 3rd week of January and it probably took quite a few days to arrive at Cornell because of traveling across the country^-^ I received my Applicant ID February 7 around 10:00 a.m. Good luck everyone!

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering when everyone was planning on sending their midterm report. I started my Spring semester on January 20th and was planning on sending my midterm report on March 7th, which is the Friday my spring break begins.

Once again I hope everyone’s classes are going well, and best of luck on midterm reports!

How do people already know they got in as a transfer? Dont they release decisions in April

@Ianbernas

Everyone in this thread received a guaranteed transfer in May of last year. Instead of being accepted to the class of 2017 right away, we were told we have to attend another college for a year, maintain a certain GPA, and take certain classes to make sure we would not fall behind when we transferred in for our Sophomore year. If we have met that GPA, and our midterm report indicates we are continuing to meet that GPA, we are automatically in.
