@hailtopitt1787 If the student uses the Pitt application instead of the Common or Coalition app, do they fill out the SRAR when they fill out the app, or do they submit the app and then get an email with instructions on filling out the SRAR?
@Genevieve18 I’m not hailtopitt1787 but can answer that - the student can do it either way. They can fill out the SRAR and then submit both the app and SRAR together Or the can submit the app and then fill out the SRAR. Link to the SRAR is just above your post, in post #79
@hailtopitt1787 Hi! Can you tell me more about the average GPA of accepted transfer students at Pitt, for CAS? And when would it be appropriate to send a LOR?
Could you please provide the Transfer Counselors contact number? PITT is the school I love to be in and looking forward to apply to UPITT SOM in the future.
Originally I was accepted as PITT Honors College student with scholarships. However, I was under the family pressure, I’ve made the wrong choice for not committed to PITT.
I am now at the other honors college. First semester, I am taking 3 honors courses: Honors Chem, Honors Research, Writing in Biological & Science, etc. Total to 18 credits, getting all As so far.
I also have AP scores 4s & 5s in Calculus I, Calculus II, English, Psychology, History, Biology I , Biology II. My high school transcript 2019 weighted GPA 100.85, I was one of the Top 10 students.
So now, I am looking for to transfer to UPITT, I would like to ask:
with all credits I have earned, would the Honors College @ PITT accept me with the transfer status?
Is there a Transfer deadline? Rolling application? etc.
Is there a specific time of day the buttons should appear? Like do they wait to change the buttons for all accepted applicants in a day or do they change the buttons as people get accepted? Just trying to figure out if there is a certain time I should be checking.
There is no guarantee that a transfer student will receive on-campus housing year to year, but transfer students are eligible to be placed on Panther Central’s housing waiting list for on-campus accommodations, and most students are accommodated.
I submitted my application on 9/27 and still haven’t heard anything. I know someone who submitted 10/01 and was accepted 10/07. What does this mean? Why did they hear back before me but I submitted before them?
@ashleyeliz It is possible for some applications to take longer to process or to take longer in the Admissions Committee than others, which means that some applicants will hear back a little before others. The length of time it takes to hear back from us is not a predictor of what the outcome will be. We work hard in our office to give everyone a fair and efficient review. We thank you for your patience as we review your application and we wish you luck!
Hello! My daughter received her accept/decline buttons today for nursing school. Do you know if that would be the main campus? That was her first choice, but this screen doesn’t show which campus; it just says nursing, Fall 2020-21. Thx!
The waiting time is the hardest part of the application! D just submitted her application yesterday (10/24) and has not received the email with login credentials yet. I can’t wait for her to receive it, login and see the famous buttons everyone is talking about. Good luck to everyone waiting like us!
My son applied last weekend and didn’t realize until after we’d paid and submitted that he hadn’t entered any extracurricular activities. I see now that they should be incorporated into the short answers — he did complete the answers, but did not talk about his extracurricular activities. Any way to add?
Also, in my attempt to see if he could revise, I seem to have created a second application… so the portal shows an incomplete application for spring 2020 as well as the submitted application for fall 2020. Should we worry about that? Thanks!

I had applied earlier in September and had received a letter that asked me to send senior grades as next step. I have my first term grades finalized and would like to share them. Should I reopen SRAR and submit them or is there an alternate way of sending in the first term senior grades for the admissions committee so they relook at my application?
Sorry for the late response! I recommend e-mailing your territory manager to let them know of this mistake and then resubmit your new short answer questions. They should be able to replace your new short answers if you haven’t gone into review yet. There is no need to submit a new application though.
Hi @matt2024 you should be able to go back in and edit your SRAR but I still recommend reaching out to your territory manager to let them know that you have received your grades so they are aware of those changes. https://oafa.pitt.edu/esm_directory.php
Hi @brown2024, merit letters will be going out until March 1 so there’s still time. Please note that only students who receive an award will be notified.
