Fall 2020 Transfer

I’m extremely nervous. I’m an in-state legacy with good grades (All A’s and B’s), but you never know. I haven’t finished all of the requirements yet, but I am at least close.

@Cm7850 i feel you. i have a 3.87 at vt and legacy but i still don’t feel good ab it
i’m a freshman right now and i don’t have a lot of the pre recs done bc i wasn’t planning on transferring until mid march and my major isn’t offered at UVA so a lot of my classes don’t transfer over

Im a out of state student so i kinda really have no chance

but i think i applied to a unpopluar major so it may help well see good luck guys!

I could be wrong but I think if you’re a first year you have a lot more lenience given that you’ll have a whole year to complete them. Most applicants (from what I’ve seen on other blogs) mention that they know you’ll usually miss 1 or 2. I have 19 that’ll directly transfer to the pre reqs, but as a first year theres no reason that my other classes (which fill general electives) wont be able to fit in a Fine Arts, History, or 2nd Lab class. I remember being super worried after I discovered the pre reqs (I’m a first gen and have learned the college process completely on my own since my academic advisors dont know how to advise academically) so I feel your concern.

@finallyalano Thank you so much for that! I’m just scared because I have like 9 credits going
to pre recs and
6 going to my major

the rest of the classes i took at VT we’re real estate classes and UVA doesn’t have equivalents for those

that might be my death sentence right there :confused:

I’d imagine they are lenient if the major doesn’t exist at your current school (or if you weren’t studying it). Like I am applying for Systems Engineering. I am currently in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Information Science, which is similar but not quite the same. I think that the stricter major requirements tend to apply more to CC applicants, because they’d be facing a HUGE educational equity problem if it was the case for oos or non-cc applicants.

i’m prob dumb but what is CC applicant? @transferringlion

NOVA’s community college application

Decision comes out in less than 24 hours!!! Wishing everyone the best of luck!

@finallyalano ohhh okkk!

@noah24nba this feed is for UVA

Good luck everyone, the wait is almost over! Get good sleep. See you all back here soon.

@transferringlion you right. i didn’t look at the username lmao imagine being like that lol

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!! @transferringlion , you’re awesome and i’m so excited to see what happens!!!

@lalalaland thanks! hope to see you (and everyone else here while we’re at it) on grounds!

I think if your in Virginia your set lol

@trasfer4200 i hope you’re right lol

@trasfer4200 or anyone else that can answer this:

How do you qualify to be in-state?

I go to school out-of-state but have family with a house in Va. Could I declare my residence there?

@UVAmen i think you have to prove you live there somehow
like with a water bill or something i forget

I’m setting an alarm to wake up at 11 am in case decisions release at the time they did last year, but I have a feeling that it’s gonna be around 5 pm again. If they release later in the day, I’ll have two essays to finish up that’ll keep my mind off it :neutral:

@UVAyyy i have a prediction it’ll be before noon because they waited until the last possible day ??‍♀️
