Fall 2020 Transfer

they said on the blog around 5pm…

decisions will be released around 5pm according to latest comment on the transfer website.

@CM7850 thats the WORST

omg how am I going to distract myself till then? :neutral:

@Chen876 no idea… go back to sleep is my plan lol

Do we still think that having the inquiry access denied message has some importance if you applied for financial aid?

@transfer1210 I’m going to say yes based on past threads, but I’m going to ignore all of that speculation haha I don’t want to get my hopes up if that is the case.

Just curious about all the “early indicators” of admission, are they accurate/ have happened in the past? When I logged into UVA SIS and admissions portals, it basically had nothing on there, so does that mean that I would most likely be rejected?

I’m currently a student at Rice University which I thought would have helped a bit with admissions; however, I’m also out of state (California) so I guess that basically “cancels out” the slight advantage that I would have had.

I doubt it, Me and my friend both had one of the “early indicators” that hinted at acceptance for UNC Chapel Hill this year and we still got rejected, lol.

As for UVA, from what I’ve seen the only people who had “early indicators” were people who were on FAFSA or applied to a specific major/school. It doesn’t seem to be universal. Although I’ve seen many exceptions. I’ve seen people on previous threads who got in with no indicators and people who got rejected with indicators.

@Hopeful-TBivy an early indicator is that if you applied for fin aid and have “inquiry access denied 2021” instead of “no info found,” you’ll be accepted. however, having “no info found” doesn’t mean you’ll be rejected since there were people who were accepted with no info found.

If I had that GPA, I’d be confident. I know an in-state legacy who got in with 3.0. Mine’s not that high (3.2) but that’s because of the timing of a lot of my grades. Despite that GPA, the lowest grade I ever made in college was a B-.

@hashtagrejected and @CM7850 Thanks guys for the info! I wish you guys the best of luck!!

@CM7850 I have a similar gpa (3.3). I wouldn’t worry too much about it because, based on past threads, UVA has a holistic admissions process and seems to care a lot about essays and why you’re transferring. while gpa definitely does hold some weight, it’s not like you need a 4.0 to get in. There were people last year who transferred with gpa’s in the 3.2-3.4 range.

Good luck everyone!!

It’s not necessarily all about your GPA, or how many A’s and B’s you have. Transfer decisions are a whole other ball game. Anybody that’s applying to UVA that is currently passing with roughly a 3.0 from a 4 year is qualified, that means all of you are qualified. They’re looking for what you offer the university. What your major is, what you want to do after school, what you intend to do urging school. Since you’re going to be graduating with a UVA degree they want to ensure that their reputation 1) won’t be tarnished 2) is going to help promote the university. It’s not all a GPA game. I’ve known people accepted with 2.8s before and people rejected with 3.8s before. Nobody is safe, but at the same time nobody is really counted out.

@hashtagrejected ok that makes me feel so much better knowing there’s people who are applying with gpa’s similar to mine. I have a 3.2 as well. I really hope everyone on this thread gets in! Best of luck guys!!

@CM7850 whats the fafsa indicator?
i had someone make a change on mine yesterday and it was a school. could that be one?

I think we are going to see a high number of acceptances today!

@trasfer4200 i agree! why do you think so??

I just think because the pandemic might lead to higher transfer rates and they have a decent acceptance rate for transfers.

i completely agree
