We are enjoying Madam Secretary. My daughter described it as like Scandal without so much sleaziness.

I quit watching Scandal but my husband continued. I happened to walk by while Mellie and Fitz sniped at each other - same old, same old. I like Mellie but was so ready for someone to move on - permanently - not for a few episodes.

Watched first episode of Madame Secretary last night thanks to the DVR. A nice change from our usual short tv list which mostly includes comedies/reality tv/HGTV. Intrigued to watch the next episode beyond the pilot.

We just finished watching season 4 of The Walking Dead today! Oh no! I don’t know what we’re going to do- we don’t get whatever channel it’s on when the new season starts. I can’t wait but am also afraid to see what happens next. S (16) and I both thought season 4 was really good. Sometimes the seasons lose their appeal the older a series gets. We don’t feel that way with this show.

Did anyone watch The Walking Dead? My dvr ended on time so I missed the reveal of the mysterious hooded figure after the credits. Did they show who it is?

It’s Morgan! He’s back! It’s hard to tell if he’s “sane Morgan” from the first season or “crazy Morgan” from season 3, but he appeared to be okay (at least he seems to be, in the five seconds we see him at the end of the episode.)

It was amazing - I agree! The beginning was a little…awful… but I thought the story arc and the action (and the reunion between Carol and Daryl) were great.

I tried to like The Newsroom…could not make it work after 3 episodes. It feels like it is trying too hard to be The Office. But in a newsroom.

Loving the culmination of Boardwalk Empire. The Good Wife is getting good again. And I’m one of the few I guess enjoying How to Get Away with Murder. The plot is ridiculous but it’s interesting too.

Newsroom is a drama. I’d say a cross between West Wing and Broadcast news (movie). It did take a while for the main lead (MacEvoy) to transition from intentional lightweight who won’t risk public opinion (which is maybe where you get the Office) to something more substantial and for the ensemble cast to get fleshed out.

Speaking of West Wingesque, I’ve enjoyed watching these first couple of episodes of Madam Secretary. I did find the Lilith part a little cringe worthy this week though. And the requisite see through pullover for TL – can’t say I’m surprised, but come on… I try to avoid eye rolling, but that one did have me tempted.

We’ve enjoyed Madam Secretary. After a few episodes, assuming that it is anything even close to reality, I have to wonder why the heck anyone would want that job.

Snowdog, I, too, am loving this season of Boardwalk Empire. It’s truly superb. I’m sad that it’s ending but what a great run it’s had.

I really enjoyed the pilots of Marry Me and Jane the Virgin. I also loved Transparent on Amazon. I’ve been watching How to Get Away with Murder, which has been fun, if a little silly.

As for returning shows, I’m still watching Nashville, Parenthood, The Mindy Project, Modern Family, and Top Chef. I’ve also been watching The Voice this year, after skipping a few seasons.

I finished watching Broadchurch.
Now I am trying to watch Gracepoint, but the American accents sound so flat.
I also can’t get over Nick Nolte.
When I met my H, he looked just like him, granted that was 1976, and Nick is 14 yrs older, but still.
Perhaps it’s trying to keep up with his five yr old.
