For sure! The Fedex dude never misses the puddle in the driveway when he tosses my packages off his truck! ;)

I find that summertime delivery predictions are much more accurate than in winter. Weather and holiday rush make things less certain, especially for ground shipments that have to cross mountain passes.

Well now I’m really confused. Have been out all day and just got home to follow up on the delivery status. It says the package is in transit to our town’s post office (not sitting in a hub or regional office). But the ‘estimated delivery’ date at the top of the page says it’s still not due to be delivered until Monday. I’d be happy with somewhere in between (meaning Friday or Saturday).

I have had much excellent service and no issues with fedex, UPS lost 2 packages ( I got a refund), and USPS has lost several and is never accurate. One time I was sure fedex delivered a mattress to the wrong home , it said ‘delivered’, I drove up and down the street looking for it on others door steps, H found it nicely tucked at our back door hidden from front yard view. I felt like an idiot.

Is there any option for you to select pickup at a specific location? We used to have the biggest problem with FedEx Ground. They seemed to not be able to find our house. Or they had a delivery that someone needed to sign for, and we just weren’t there. So we’d go online, select the Kinko’s location nearby for a pickup. Though I’m afraid if it’s already in USPS’s hands, good luck! Our FedEx Express guy always nails the delivery. Runs down the road to our house, always finds it, delivers in good condition. FedEx Ground, who knows when it will show up.

@busdriver11 - I think you’re right; it’s now in the USPS’s hands, so I think I’m SOOL. Like I said, I will be perfectly fine if it does not come tomorrow, but does come Saturday. In fact, our Saturday deliveries from USPS have been coming much earlier in the day than our week day deliveries (which are often running between 5:30-6PM). We even got a Sunday delivery from USPS last weekend. But Sunday would be too late for the party (again, not their fault because I ordered eight days before hoping the item would be needed). I will be upset if I find out for some reason it’s sitting at our local post office tomorrow or Saturday and isn’t delivered. But that wouldn’t be FedEx’s fault… except that they handed off the delivery to USPS and did not keep it in their system until final delivery; and that could be the retailer’s fault for not specifying with FedEx that they wanted their deliveries to be door-to-door and not hand part of it off to another vendor. I just don’t know enough about FedEx because, as I said, most of our packages come UPS or USPS.

That has got to be so frustrating, teri. Maybe you can relieve the stress by going to a nice store like Macys or Nordstroms, and buy a backup shirt. Leave the tag on, and return it if you don’t need it. At stores like those, you’d be likely to find something very nice pretty quickly (though expensively), and at least you wouldn’t have to worry about whether it made it there or not!

If you had my luck, as soon as you returned from shopping, you’d have it delivered to your home! Almost a way to guarantee it gets there.

“Nice store like Macy’s” ? That made me spit on my computer!

Hope, your package arrives tomorrow. The only thing I can recall ever getting by fedex was my Harry Potter Book…that actuall was delivered to my house on a Sunday!

Ah well, you must have more expensive taste than I do. Anything a step about Sears or our local thrift shop is a nice store to me. In my opinion, both Macy’s and Nordstroms have a large selection of nice clothing for women. However, I am not a fashionista, merely a middle aged woman with low end tastes.

Busdriver…it’s not about Macy’s merchandise…it’s about how horribly disorganized the store is. I can’t stand going there. I would order online if I really found something I wanted. But that would not help Teri right now.

I’ve thought about going to Nordstroms tomorrow, but the closest one to us is a good half hour away, so an hour of travel time, plus time in the store to shop. I also have a ton of things to get ready for the party on Saturday. Yes, we have a Macy’s much closer, but I agree with Thumper that it’s terribly disorganized. At Nordstroms, I know exactly where in the store to go, depending on whether I’m looking for a top, jeans, sweater, dress, etc. But I also have a doctor’s appt. tomorrow (one of my three-month cancer follow ups), so I’m a bit stressed - however, now that I think about it, the Nordstroms is about a 15-20 minute shot down the road from my doctor’s office so I’d be saving some time by going there from the doctor’s office. I’m going to give it some thought and probably check the delivery status again in the morning and see if there are any what could be considered reliable updates. And yep, if I made the trip to Nordstroms, it would probably guarantee the package will show up!

I’ve had two packages delivered by USPS this week. One started out UPS and the other DHL. Both were delivered in the morning. The regular mail delivery is always mid-afternoon. I think in our town at least, USPS this time of year may have someone just delivering packages so the regulars carriers don’t have to get out of their trucks so often to drop packages at the door and can keep their schedule.

Maybe it’s your local store that is disorganized. I just got back from a Christmas shopping trip for my kids. God, do I hate shopping. But I went to Macy’s, Nordstroms, and Penneys. Penneys was very disorganized and I found almost nothing that worked. Nordstroms had a fairly small selection, and was horribly overpriced. Macy’s had a huge selection, reasonably priced, and was nicely organized.

Regardless, I’m sure Teri knows what her backup options are. Mine, for last minute desperation clothes that I need to get in a hurry, I choose Nordstroms or Macys. Too time consuming to go to a bunch of little boutiques, and I know I can always find something at one of those stores.

Teri - My son went to school in Kenosha and I sent many, many packages his way. When I look back, I seem to recall that once the package arrived in New Berlin that the deliveries were usually made the following day.

My first check this morning shows that it arrived at my local post office at 3:49AM this morning. It says to give an additional day or two to make it out for delivery. I’m guessing it will get delivered today.

Which is exactly why I didn’t get my mind 100% set on wearing this top. I know that is a possibility. But I have ordered clothing from this catalog before and am pretty sure I ordered the right size. The other possibility is that it just isn’t a flattering fit, but I read quite a few reviews written about the top and the majority of people love it.

I have a backup plan, but I fell in love with this top when I saw it online.
