Maybe they or their loved ones are “lurkers.”

My heart just skipped a beat when a post from a whitehouse.gov blog popped up on my FB feed - the photo was of Mrs. Obama in a Princeton t-shirt. I was sure that it was showing that Malia had decided to go to Princeton, which naturally would mean that she and my DD would be roommates since they were both born on July 4th of the same year and everyone knows that it’s destiny, right??
It turns out it is part of an effort to promote higher education - timed to national signing day. The title of the blog post is “Why National College Signing Day Is a Big Deal” and it has today’s date, if anyone wants to google it.
It was a nice delusion until I read the post. Oh well!
Well, @GnocchiB, she could have picked any college’s t-shirt. Perhaps it is foreshadowing? Maybe you can continue your delusions for 5 more days.
Mrs. Obama is a Princeton grad so presumably the reason for the choice of shirt. Or she’s just trying to mess with everyone!
The photo collage also had President Obama in a Columbia shirt, VP Biden in a U Del one, and Dr. Biden in a Villanova shirt, so most likely the Princeton shirt isn’t a sign of Malia’s choice.
But I have been granted permission by @Doschicos to continue the delusion that Malia will go to Princeton and room with my special snowflake, so I am exercising that right!

Source? There have been plenty of articles about her visits, reports of seeing her at accepted student days, etc. Barnard has been thought to be a school with an inside track since the conversation started, given that she has an interest in film. Do you know something more specific or recent from a reliable source?
Did anyone / anyone’s kid room with anyone famous? I know someone who roomed w Jodie Foster at Yale, who was her roommate during the Hinckley/Reagan assassination attempt and testified at the trial.

If anyone’s kid was going to do that, it would have been Amy Carter. She went a small private art school in Memphis.
There are presidents in our lifetime whose kids went to public college before their parent was in the Oval Office. Two of Gerry Ford’s kids went to Utah State (one graduated when he was VP, I think he gave the commencement address there).
