Thanks. I’m not sure if I’d be a medium or large.
If I order from Title9, I have to pay to return (and I have to spend $100 for free shipping).
I’ve spent less time buying a new car than looking for these shorts
Apparently 7” shorts are an unicorn
I’m currently in Target waiting for H and went through the men’s athletic sections. They have tons of 7” shorts with pockets, mostly zippered for $12. Definitely worth a look. I wear men’s clothes all of the time, though I’m a pretty big person.
My husband just got some target shorts from his daughter for Father’s Day. I suspect they may be shorter than 7 inches, but I’m going to have to check. Good to know. I may have to venture there.
I didn’t measure but the tag said 7” shorts. They had some that said 5” and some that didn’t say anything. But those I suspect were shorter than 7” but when I held them up they looked like they’d hit long. Maybe men’s hang differently.
I’m sure tags are correct - I’m just guessing my husband’s were shorter, probably 5 inch
And 10 +/- friggin’ years later, with a slightly wonky back for some unknown reason, I FINALLY PR’ed my deadlift and broke through what has been a psychological barrier of a big round #.
In competition I have gotten very close, but those 5.5 lbs (2.5 kgs) had proved to be too much for some reason. I wasn’t even planning to attempt a 1 RM (rep max), but I felt great today.
I finished with a treadmill 5K. I was planning a HIIT, but my legs were (and are) too dead. I may take tomorrow off to celebrate. We’ll see how the body feels.
VIC-TORY!!!
That’s fabulous! Most people would show significant decline of strength in 10 years. What a great testament to your training.
I actually came on to ask a question of all you athletic folk but thought I’d put this link out there about women’s shorts - I walk daily and carry my car keys, my card wallet that hold my insurance cards, my inhaler, my iPhone, and lastly my emisis bag with a meclizine pill just in case my vertigo hits on the walk. It all fits in these shorts that are super light weight, fast drying and zipper pockets on the side and on the lower front - I walk hands free with an apple watch on my arm. I love them and will buy more.
Thanks so much for the suggestion.
I notice they say hand wash only. Do you hand wash them?
I want to be able to throw my exercise shorts in (on delicate is fine) the washing machine.
I walk daily at a park area and when not outside, go to the rec center to walk indoors. At both locations I am noticing fairly young folks walking backwards for periods of time. I googled it and I guess it’s got some benefits…being old and a little off-kilter in my walking, I was unsure if I should try this for short distances. Like at the rec center, it is a rectangular track and at the top and bottom of the track, I could try the backward walk and then face forward for the long stretches. I was wondering if any of you athletic posters have done the backward walk and did it help you with anything, other than slowing your walk down?
No, they have been through my normal wash cycle repeatedly - not sure why it said hand wash, have never done that and they don’t shrink and I don’t think they bleed, they certainly don’t fade but I wash them with other darks.
I sometimes do the elliptical backwards, and I saw a woman walking backwards in our neighborhood when I was riding my bike the other day. I think it just uses some different muscles, but I’m not an expert.
In some of my HIIT or Tabata routines I do it falls for some backward walking movements…they are short not like going around a track. I think you’re using different muscles going backwards.
I think it’s also an exercise in balance and you know, exercising your mind!
Thank you, but I’m sure my strength has declined over the past 10 years. How can it not?
I think between improving technique and diet, programming and training like a “mad man,” I’ve been able to slow the decline.
I wonder if they are following the kneesovertoes guy? A couple of years ago when I was going to through knee pain, I followed some of his stuff including backwards walking. I didn’t notice it helping, and sometimes seemed to hurt it. My issue wound up being a tight glute. But, I still do several of his exercises each day, though I’m sooooo far from being able to do it like him - or one’s ultimate goal.
If you have access to a treadmill, the easiest (and safest IMO) way is to walk backwards on that - BUT don’t have it turned on. Your strength powers it. And he says to work up to 5 minutes, I believe. Not much more than that. I liked doing that vs trying to do it outside and hoping I didn’t veer off a sidewalk/curb
Backwards walking and running is one of PT rehab exercises for folks suffering from runners knee pain. BTDT.
