Five New Osteopathic Medical Schools Planned

Mishawaska, an Indiana-based Franciscan Alliance, non-profit Catholic healthcare systems is planning on building a new medical school in Crown Point, IN.

The new facility will enroll 200 medical students/year plus offer 250 residency positions.

The new school is expected to open for fall 2030.

Larkin University, located in Miami, FL, is seeking accreditation for a new ospeatpathic medical school, the Jacqueline Nicole Michel College of Osteopathic Medicine.The new school is expected to welcome its first students in fall 2028.

The University of Dubuque is establishing the John and Alice Butler College of Osteopathic Medicine (proposed, applicant seeking accreditation) to address the regional shortage of physicians, particularly in rural areas.

The Iowa medical school hopes to welcome its first class in Fall 2028
