Flights

So, how many flights do you have to take to get to college?

Me, I will have to take 2 flights and a bus to get to Columbia, MO. It costs about $1000 in all (return) as I used a student website for the internal USA flights.

Omigosh suddenly I’m posting so much on CC again :</p>

I actually have to take 3 flights lol. Total damage: it was expensive as hell.

2 flights, one from my country to Houston and then connect to San Antonio. What student website did you use ?

This site is pretty good:[Cheap Tickets for College Students and Faculty: Airfare, Rail and Hostel Deals](<a href=“The New StudentUniverse”>The New StudentUniverse)

Hope you find a good deal!

In my experience it’s usually cheaper to book all your flights at once rather than Paris-JFK on one website and then JFK-Kansas City on another.

I guess I was lucky that I only had to pay $600 for airfare and $70 for a taxi to my college. I could have used a train for $8 instead, but I didn’t want to have to deal with three pieces of luggage.

Btw redsexton, are you attending Stephens? I just realized that there are not only one but two women’s colleges in Columbia, MO.

My favorite website for flights is www.checkfelix.com

It runs your search through other travel search engines from various countries and then filters out the offers that can be booked from your current country of residence. It has always found the cheapest offer I could find manually on any other website or combinations thereof.

I have to take two- one a direct from India to NewYork- 15 hours and then another 2 hour flight after a gap of four hours! I shudder everytime i think of the 15 hour flight alone! I can’t sleep in flights at all. Its gonna be a real pain :frowning:
It was 900$ one way! and i booked it before the fuel costs ran up!

When did you book it? Fuel costs have been up for a long time.

Yeah, b@r!um, I’ll be attending Stephens. However, I know that the only other women’s college in MO is Cottey College in Nevada. What other one is in Columbia?

Columbia College.

No, Columbia College in MO is coed. There is a women’s Columbia College but it is in SC.

Thanks for the clarification. To my defense, there are waaaay too many Columbia colleges out there… :D

S33D- i booked it on May 2nd to be precise- but yes fuel costs have been high for a while. How much was yours?
