cb: Can you request that shoes be left in the courtyard, or can you provide those operating room paper booties?
I was recently house hunting with my cousins, mostly in the rain, and I was shocked at how few of the houses had doormats at the entry, either inside or outside. We all took our shoes off a couple of times because wet and muddy shoes don’t go with fresh wood flooring!
Put a doormat or two outside your lovely house please.
Been there with our House1. Our realtor provided booties and all. We had doormats, and it was quite dry during the two weeks it was on the market and the sale was negotiated. People still managed to track dirt into the house no matter what. Plus, the pillows and beds needed to be straightened out, the paw prints on the SS needed to be wiped off, etc. As soon as we went “contingent” (the buyers home sale was pending, but we agreed to contingency because we liked them), I kind of eased off the cleaning.
Live from the Open House. About 10 groups of people queued up right at 1pm. One family with 3 girls still here looking at every single detail
That sounds very encouraging. Hoping for a bidding war.
First offer coming in tonight probably. The family wants to meet with my agent after Open House. He’s an architect (commercial) so I’m very flattered.
I kept trying to leave because I looked like a charwoman, covered in sweat, dirt and paint from our mad cleanout this morning. You would be amazed with the transformation of the garage. My agent and her assistant were adorable. They came dressed like the actresses in Mad Men. They had a MCM soundtrack playing in the background and had retro small cans of 7up and Fanta and some 60s candy. We were a big hit with the girls of the family.
When I was trying to leave at 2pm, my agent came running out and said the couple would like to meet me and ask some questions. So I spent time walking them through
We will see

I love this part of the project!!
So glad you have folks lining up to see your gorgeous work! Let the bidding wars begin!
Breaking News!!
My agent is writing up an offer right now from the family. It is a really good offer, but I’m still going to wait until end of Open House tomorrow. Let the bidding war begin!!
<:-P :D/
Is this the family with the 3 girls or the family with the architect father or are they the same?
Great news! I bet your agents inspired those girls, and you are an inspiration to everyone, especially looking like a charwoman. Charwomen get stuff done!
Wow. Just – WOW!!!
Fabulous news!! Time to find another house to flip…
Same family. Dad is a commercial architect
@tx5athome …I think those are the closing words on the Flip or Flop TV show?
Regarding next flip…I am already committed to another remodel for one of my agent’s clients. Lawyer who just bought an incredible large townhome in a secret spot in La Jolla. It is a gorgeous location with views that, luckily, has plenty of parking for the crew
Wow!!!
The reno is stunning. Changing out the windows absolutely made this house. Hope you get several great offers – this is absolutely gorgeous!
@coralbrook - can you buy the MLS photos so you can use them in your portfolio of San Diego Midcentury Modern Renovation Consultant?
