I just want to make sure that fsu admitted student days is an optional thing?
We are scheduled for orientation in June
(Ik at UF orientation is mandatory)
They donāt have an admitted students day, just orientation. The regular tours separate out admitted students and give them swag and will gear the tour towards their questions from what I understand. We did a regular tour in the fall

Heās already been on campus and he is starting in fall
So all we are doing at this point is orientation in June
Wish he had been accepted into summer B
In my experience w my girls
They are bored by July ready for the next chapter in their lives
Same, my daughter is fall also, I tried to convince her to do summer, but she wasnāt interested.

Yes mandatory in person due to registration for classes

They register for classes, get their id etc

But since I donāt know anything about FSU Iām sure it will be helpful
Orientation is typically mandatory at all schools. Iām sure there are outliers, but you should make every effort to attend, meet with advisors, and register for classes. On top of that, hopefully make some friends that youāll see again in the fall. My son made friends at orientation that he now rooms with.

FSU starts the night before and then a full day the next day and then half day on the following day. So still 2 full days total, but broken up. Iāve done the UF one and it was exhausting. Hopefully FSU will be less tiring with the way itās scheduled

Has anyone already registered for Orientation? I am wondering when the exact dates in June are. We are OOS and my sonās high school graduation is not until June 29 (so late this year). If the orientation is mandatory, I am worried it might conflict with end of the year final exams or possibly graduation itself.
We are registered 6/25-6/27
We had an issue w the dates online somehow and we emailed
And got a very quick response
So maybe reach out to them

Thank you! I called and all available orientation dates are in June. She seemed to think that there will be an option for situations like ours (no regular sessions offered before school lets out for the summer) but it wonāt be advertised. We will need to call/write again after paying $200 deposit to officially find out what that option is.
Well I think we donāt have to send final grades and transcripts til July
So I donāt think it matter if heās officially graduated
Idk if he can travel and miss school tho
Yesā¦that is my concern. Those last couple weeks of school are senior class trip, class day, final exams etc. Some he canāt miss (exams, graduation) and some would just be a huge bummer to miss (senior activities/trip etc). With the orientation being 2-3 days long, it would require missing 4- 5 days of school because we would have to account for travel since we live in waaaay upstate NY.
We are coming for our first visit to the campus in early April so I am going to inquire at that time as well. I am sure we are not the only ones in a situation like this and hopefully it will all work out.

Same Amy. Coming from Mass with daughter and it will take up a whole week. Donāt sweat it, though. Went through it previously with my son and everyone on both ends understands whatās going on. Itāll work out fine.

I suspect they donāt publish the orientation dates because as they fill up they just add on more days.
