With job prospects for new grads dim and AI spreading, Forbes searched out the schools that make it a priority to help students with co-op programs, internships, coaching and more.
While these schools vary in size and academic focus, they all emphasize work experience for undergraduates through co-op and internship programs or part-time jobs.
W&M seems out of place. Low % internship and moderate salary. The write-up only mentions funding for underpaid internships, which doesnt seem to be helping the internship numbers much. I think of W&M as a school that sends a lot of students to grad school.
We need a best list of colleges based on alphabetical order. The best college in the US is… Aaniiih Nakoda College in Harlem, Montana! Congrats Aaniiih Nakoda!
PS, no shade to Aaniiih Nakoda. I looked them up - looks like they do a lot of environmental research in the area. Pretty cool!
Well, in all fairness an alphabetical ranking is about as useful as a lot of college rankings. For those of you who weren’t up early this morning the title of the thread has been edited from the original which indicated that the first three schools on the list topped Forbes rankings of best schools for launching careers, which they do.
Understanding all generic lists are basically nonsensical, I do at least appreciate lists like this which remind people there are actually a wide variety of types of colleges which can help you launch a successful career. The right college (assuming college is right in general) for any given kid will vary. But that is good news in that you don’t necessarily need to spend more than is comfortable for your family, or make other significant personal sacrifices, to make college work out very well for you.
I would like to emphasize: notice how none of the colleges are IVY leagues and not at that level (except maybe some). So many people worry about getting into these unis, when there are many good ones out there.
I do not understand the criteria. For example ASU is listed as co-op program “No” and undegrads completing internship/co-op “N/A” so why is it on the list?
