Am I seeing this wrong or has the forum always been full-width? By this I mean that the posts within threads span across the entire window of the browser. I feel like before, it was a specified width and widening the browser just created white space on the outside edges of the thread content.

I really don’t like how the width increases with expansion of the browser. Here are two screenshots to illustrate what I mean.

It’s new to me, too. I like it! But CC should be looking at adopting a responsive design (i.e., [this](<a href=“http://www.alistapart.com/articles/responsive-web-design/]this[/url]”>Responsive Web Design – A List Apart)</a>).

I definitely don’t like it. There’s no reason they can’t offer both full-width and fixed-width variations of the style/design.

The forum has always been full-width when using the “CC” skin, which is the original gray and dark blue coloring that only the more veteran members remember (or continue to use). The “Fresh” skin is the brighter color scheme introduced a few years ago with white background and lighter blues. “Fresh” has had a fixed-width format, but recently it was inadvertently allowed to go full-width. This is being addressed by our dev team and you should see a return to fixed-width before too long.

Thanks, glad I’m not going crazy and that it’s being restored.

Was it just restored today? Because for the first time in all my time on CC, every page I load has whitespace on the left (about 3 inches of it), even when the browser is maximized, so I have to scroll over to the right every time I load a page. The only way for me to stop this is by going to 1280x1024 resolution, which I really don’t like…

It seems as though the issue of the site being full-width is resolved, however there is now extra white space on the left. I thought that previously, the left side-bar was flush with the left of the browser window while the right side had white space, whereas now there’s whitespace on both sides.

I have to scroll sideways to read posts and I didn’t have to until a couple of days ago. It is SUPER annoying.

I just switched from FRESH to CC and that fixed my issue. Whew, it was making me crazy.

Last night I didn’t even have the bar at the bottom that you can use to scroll sideways, so I had to guess what was written to the right. SUPER annoying indeed.

Yeah, not sure why the Fresh style suddenly blew up, but I hear the latest issues that were discovered should have a fix coming soon. The first fix got some of it, but not everything. Sorry for the problems!

And, yes, you are correct that the “CC” style doesn’t have these problems, but new members default to Fresh, so we need to make it right.

I don’t mind using CC for awhile, it might even save me from the rolling eyes and groans from S when he sees I am once again on CC…color change may throw him off for a bit :wink:

Ha ha…well, I have just gotten confirmation that the latest issues should be resolved on the “Fresh” style, so you can try switching back :slight_smile:

Yes, it looks fine now.

Mine is super wide again today, both on Fresh and CC. I can’t see any reason for it to be so wide…

Mine looks good (normal). Maybe they’ve fixed it since your post though.
