Game of Thrones- who will live, who will die, who will rule?

^oh I hope not!

Bran as the leader of a council because he Sees All, Knows All. And because he’s really Not Bran now - totally Three Eyed Raven.

Overall theory is that the council would be Sansa, Sam, Gendry, Sweet Robin, Bronn :(, Yara, maybe Tyrion if he lives, and a stray Martell cousin that shows up out of nowhere. Maybe they’ll throw us all for a loop and put Dany on the council ;).

Another long term theory is that we end with Sam writing the story because he’s an ancestor of George R.R. Martin.

I stopped watching Games of Thrones when Sansa was raped…and I am watching this because it’s the finale. Since when did they stop filming in color?
Bittersweet: Jon kills Dany and he doesn’t sit on the throne.

A new thought occurred to me. Dany could kill Jon, both cuz he no longer wants her, and also, his death removes him as the heir to the throne.

Great piece about G of T in the New York Times:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/18/arts/television/game-of-thrones-season-8.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share

It includes such thoughts as, “The disputes over “Game of Thrones” often served as proxies for arguments in the mundane real world. They were about how power is best won and wielded; about the portrayal of women and attitudes toward violence; about whose stories are subordinated to someone else’s hero journey; about whether ethics in leadership is a requirement, an impediment or a luxury.”

I just think its going to end in some random way that no one predicts. . . . a new group of people. . . . no one on the throne. babies . . . . i don’t know . . . something odd but with no particular person we know on the throne.

^…a sudden alien invasion. LOL.

Snap

Maybe all the Starks, Tyrion, and the rest of the major characters will be killed (or most of them). Then they’ll fast forward to the future for the bittersweet ending.

Or Dany and Drogon kill all, or nearly all, then fast forward to the bittersweet ending. If she was pregnant, we’ll see a hopeful and redemptive conclusion to the saga.

Just watched The Bells again. Daenerys burned King’s Landing because she wanted Cerci to see her coming for her. Wanted Cerci to see her power, Wantes Cerci to be afraid for her life. Wanted Cerci to cry. She was making a slow path towards the Red Keep to frighten Cerci . That was her motivation. It had nothing to do with the destruction she was causing. She didn’t think about that.

Jon is going to want to kill Gray Worm because Gray Worm broke that tentative cease fire, but Arya willl do it for him, and use Gray Worm’s face to get close to Daenerys while she is on the steps reviewing her remaining troops. Arya as Gray Worm will kill Daenerys as one of the only people she still trusts.

And here we go!

(I know nothing.)

Woo-hoo! Game time, everyone! Let the fun begin.

Much more positive (and less shocking) than expected.

A few weak points (small council in particular ) but a good ending overall.

I agree with Marilyn. Arya’s part was different than what I expected.

Actually - I liked it more than I thought I would. Not so sure about King Bran the Broken, but surprised that Jon had the guts to do the right thing.

At least I think it was the right thing.

And I like the after-stories for the Starks… especially Arya’s.

Overall I’m satisfied with the ending. Not perfect but nothing would be for everyone. I just like it ending feeling pretty good.

I really liked this episode.
Loved that Jon thought he was being exiled to the nightswatch right up until he got there and found it deserted except for Tormond and the Free Folk. Loved that they all went north of the wall. It was the only place he had ever been happy.

Much happier endings for everyone than I was expecting.

@scout59 you nailed it. But I’m glad Sansa gets to be Queen of the North. Overall I thought they did a good job.

a lot of you guys called it! - with bran, jon going north and seeing his wolf, and the north doing it’s own thing.

I was so mad at jon when he started kissing Dany. and then when he killed her, I just felt deflated. He was in pain all they way around. But when she mentioned she was going to “liberate” winter fell – he knew what had to be done.

I liked it. the good people survived; most of the bad people died. This week made up for last week.

I wish it wasn’t over.

I liked the episode a lot. It didn’t hurt that we had a big thunder and lightning show during the entire episode! Pretty cool.
