<p>I’m from Texas and a friend got notified as a finalist… but I didnt =/ so the problem is not time zones.</p>
<p>well the woman said that not receiving a email doesnt mean you doesnt mean that you are not a finalist. you can receive your status by mail alone. </p>

<p>This is all so weird. This is the first year anyone has applied to my school and none of us have received notifications. I thought at least one of us would get a notification. Well, hopefully your got lucky, fisher, and received an early notification and we’ll receive ours tomorrow. Mm, how lovely it’d be. When you look at this thread though, it doesn’t seem like central has been notified. Aha, I suppose it’s just my hope. </p>

<p>I just received a finalist email two days ago for GMS and it says I will be getting the letter in the mail in a few days… I was sooo surprised… and I’m pretty sure I’m also eligible for the EFC Grant… So does that mean I’m surely getting it?? or is there another round after this one? :/</p>

If it makes anyone feel better, there were 1800 finalists last year and 1000 of them were selected for the scholarship. So as finalists, our chances are much higher than when we were nominees!</p>

<p>a girl in my class just got her email today and we’re both hispanic and from chicago. keep up the faith people! up until next week we all still have a chance! and you know, even if we dont get it, there’s something better out there for us. seriously, this isnt our only option! i know it sucks x] im going through it too. but we’ll be okay.</p>
<p>I was reading last years finalists postings for gates and apparently they had something going on about alphabetical order and that’s how they were sending notifications.</p>

my recommender and nominee couldnt believe it, they want to write letters to the foundation asking why i didnt get em, 5 people from my school got as finalists, they did all their recs, and they say my stuff seems much better than theirs.
