<p>About personal expenses:</p>
<p>I’m about 95% sure that Gates will NOT pay airfare (to the school and back home).</p>
<p>Airfare is coverd in transportation costs</p>
<p>does gates covered health care insurance? someone from last year got a $2000 health care insurance.</p>

<p>I’m patient but very very nervous. I have no clue how to pay for NYU. 50K education and only 6k in scholarships+federal grants. People say go where you can afford but…I have prayed about this since 8th grade and my parents have encouraged me to look for the best school for my career, education and for me and not look at the cost. My parents aren’t worried at all, not that they’re rich or on welfare, it’s just how they are and I don’t want the burden of all the loans to fall on their shoulders.</p>

<p>I’m praying for all of you guys, you all must be special(er) somehow to reach the finalist status and even to take the time to complete the whole Gates App and have people recommend you, its not an easy task by itself.</p>
<p>Well the username is ur first name and your scholar id so if u got one on the phone on monday then you have the username. The password i dont know. The letter said we would receive that by email. I havent gotten it yet. So best of luck and hopefully u get good news</p>

<p>and btw, are you sure we can’t get computer expenses from gates?!? wasn’t there a section on the mail under COA that said computer expenses:________?? i emailed april but so far. . … nothing. . .but i know for 07 and 08 classes some financial aid officers included computer expenses as part of the financial aid</p>
<p>It seems like this year they are excluding computer expenses as it said in the letter that to go in effect immediately “gms will not provide funding for computer related expenses” yeaa this sucks. We really need a computer in college and i cant afford to pay for one. Im hoping i can buy it with other scholarship. Does other scholarship money go to pay for the self need portion? Hopefully they do pay for computer expenses</p>
<p>Im using computer expences under either books ect or personal however idk if ur susposed to i bet they stopped payin for that cuz people were buyin macs lol but ya as far as not gettin an email yet i would call monday n ask for tha username n password</p>

I just joined this CC thing today so kind of new… I was reading all the replies in the thread… what’s this about a username and ID? it said nothing in the mail package about it and never got anything in the mail! Where is the conference held at anyways? i live in FL!</p>
