When do the Early Action decisions typically come out? Also are Honors and Merit Aid communicated at the same time as admittance or later? Thanks!
The decisions come out mid December. My DS 2 years ago was given merit with his acceptance letter.
Thank you! We are OOS- do you know if it is the same for instate and OOS?
EA decisions are out. No email was sent. I just checked portal and the decision was received.
Son accepted to honors with $20k merit offer for OOS.
Is anyone else who attended WYSE having issues viewing their decision? It seems like Mason somehow made 2 accounts for me, both linked to the same email but with different G-numbers. One is sending me emails saying my decision is ready (and unfortunately I do not have access to this account), and the other says my application is incomplete. I’ve emailed admissions and I’ve gotten no response as of yet.
Congrats to your son. Did the letter have any mention about the Major ? My son’s letter says Undecided / Engineering , so it’s confusing.
Also is the merit amount for one year or all four years ?
My son wants to study Political Science and this major was in the letter that also confirmed. the honors college. We are OOS and the merit is $20k/year for four years which makes more in line with in-state costs.
My daughter OOS also got accepted but her major states Bioengineering. Merit at $20k per year , honors college.
Great, thanks. Let me reach out to admissions to check on this major.
Curious to those who are have been accepted if you have visited the campus and how you would compare it to other schools that you have seen? We plan to visit our final 2-3 options once we have all responses in early April.
I stayed on campus for about a week over the summer for a youth summit, and it was pretty decent. The campus as a whole is very pretty, but not super easily walkable for some students as the buildings were pretty far apart (I mean, I’m disabled though, so I may be biased). Dorms are pretty average - accessible with elevators, small common spaces on each floor, decently small rooms and bathrooms. Overall, nothing to write home about, but I don’t think it would be a dealbreaker in the slightest. Hope this helped!
Thank you. In the DC area, GMU still has a reputation as a “commuter school” even though I believe this may be outdated as the school has change a lot in the past 10 years from what I have read. I am interested to hear what type of atmosphere visitors felt? If you were there in the summer it may have been difficult to get a read on that though.
I couldn’t really tell while I was there - sorry!
