When I log into BuzzPort, it says it is “Generating Custom Layout,” then loads a page that is entirely student-oriented. When I click on the “Canvas” tab, it opens a totally-student-oriented page with this welcome: “Welcome to Canvas! You don’t have any courses, so this page won’t be very exciting for now. Once you’ve created or signed up for courses, you’ll start to see conversations from all of your classes.” Canvas also has a personal calendar with my name on it and links to “Courses” and “View Grades” etc. Does everyone have this?

I didn’t apply for financial aid. I do not see the “pay now” button when I log in through OSCAR, but an optional survey asking about my ethnicity (?? doesn’t seem good).

Did you click the “student services & financial aid” tab first?

Edit: nevermind, it’s actually visible at the bottom of the “Personal Information” tab as well

EDIT: Now, you’re sure a Student ID is not issued to all applicants, right?

"Upon acceptance, the registrar will assign you a Georgia Tech Identification Number (gtID #). Your gtID# is a universal number that identifies you throughout the various campus departments, while the BuzzCard is your physical identification card. A BuzzCard cannot be issued without a gtID#. "

Well I was able to locate my student id, but I didn’t have a “pay now” button on my Oscar.

Maybe, but this is the first I’ve heard of or seen a “Student ID” in this long process. I know applicants were issued a “GTID”. I guess the question is, does every applicant have access to a “Student ID” through the “Pay Now” link on Oscar? Or through another portal?

Alright here’s what we know so far–

It seems that those who have the Pay Now button are people who applied for financial aid. Nobody on this thread has yet to see a Pay Now button who did not apply for financial aid. So, I don’t think Pay Now is linked to decisions – I think it’s linked to aid.

Now, for the student ID. Is anybody UNABLE to view their student ID? I think this is a more plausible theory - since GA Tech states on their website that you are issued an ID upon acceptance, this would make a lot more sense than the creepy Pay Now button.

So the question is-- can we find somebody who did not apply for aid who has the Pay Now button? Can we find somebody who is unable to access a student ID?

I’m not sure I just know that I’m able to find my GTiD and “student id” even though I cannot find the “pay now” button online. Also, are you in state?
