I read somewhere that it’s the 4th Friday of January usually. That may mean Jan 24, 2025?

DS25 got AP Scholar with Distinction this July- CB still has these awards, they only stopped giving National AP Scholar

What is the difference?

Glad they responded a polite No… Just only one thought that comes to my mind colleges look for how much the student can be a brand ambassador in the future years to come, not before they join…

Hi! I’m sorry if this has already been answered, but I don’t see it. Are we thinking that GT EA (in-state) decisions will come out Friday, December 6th? I have been watching the GT Admissions Instagram, but haven’t seen an official post. Thanks!

I think so too, as I believe it’s usually the first Friday in December.

Need help to see what would be my son’s chances in GT EA that he has applied (Instate)
W GPA - 4.2
SAT - 1440
16 APs/ 2 DEs including in senior year
Major - CE or Finance (alternative)
Activities - Youth Leadership Forsyth Cohort/ CS Internship working with company on AI model data gathering + mobile app/Passion project created an AI chatbot/ Online self study of Harvard free CS course/Volunteered and led creating Online safety curriculum with a Non Profit/ Founded online safety club for kids/ Active Tennis player (not HS team)

Are his dual enrollment classes GT math? If so, and he did well in them that seems to be a real positive during admission.

He is a competitive student for Georgia Tech, but will be looked at through the lens of the other competitive students who have applied statewide and specifically from his high school. As a suburban Atlanta applicant there will be a lot of them. It is difficult to do a chance me for Georgia Tech from the Atlanta metro because there are literally thousands of similar students who apply, with a target enrollment of a little over 2000 in state enrolled statewide. Georgia Tech is self selecting to a degree because even in state people realize how difficult it is to get in and simply don’t apply if they are not competitive.

The only clarity I can give is if he is in the very top of his class he will likely get in.

Good luck!

Thanks for your answer. Yeah, we know its a reach at best. He’s in the top 24% from his school. The DE is in CS area from GT. Hopefully strong essay, activities count for something from a holistic stand point.

Essays/LORs/Other
Essays are great.
LoRs are also pretty nice. Math LoR includes how I found a mathematical way of predicting the year on which a date lands on a specific weekday, Physics LoR includes my projects and how I created my own version of Biot-Savart Law for helical conductors.

I feel like I should’ve done competitions/olympiads, but honestly, I didn’t care to do any because I wasn’t aware of their importance (poor research from my end). I hope they see my innovativeness with my projects LoRs? What do y’all think?

2 more days! Dec 6th @ 7 PM EST.

quick question… S25 applied for CS as his first choice and CE as his second choice. If he doesn’t get accepted for CS, will they consider him for CE? EA1 applicants - 8116 is a crazy number.

That is a lot of applicants! :open_mouth:
