Georgia Tech wait-list 2028

I haven’t seen a thread about the GT waitlist so I’m making one!

Anyone hear anything yet?

Nothing yet sadly. There was rumor that we might see some action on the waitlist on the 30th of May so let’s see I guess.

nothing by far…

I saw a Reddit user say that their friend got in on the 25th for Aerospace OOS, nothing else at all though.

I always wonder about those random posts by a friend. Too many inaccurate or false reports. Historically, for at least the last five years, waitlist pulls have been made on Thursday. It would be unusual for one to be made on Tuesday. It is also telling that that’s the only place that it appeared. Typically if people get in off the waitlist, it appears here or the parents Facebook page and they take more than one person.

Also, in the past I believe GT Admissions has announced waitlist movement on social media. So I’m also skeptical of claims of random, one-off waitlist acceptances. That doesn’t mean it never happens and of course GT could change its practice of announcing on social media and releasing in waves on Thursdays, but it would be a change.

ETA: meant as a general comment agreeing with VirginiaBelle not a reply.

Congratulations! It appears my post was overly conservative… based on too many “just teasing” posts on other threads. Hopefully more people will chime in with good news.

Are these acceptances for summer start or abroad? Or fall Atlanta campus?

:tada::tada::tada::tada:

Back from 4 years ago experience.
It can be several big waves and then very few offers. That was case of my DD. Her “wave” was very tiny and not announced.

Now my triplets all got in (one accepted EA; two just off waitlist).

We are OOS and no financial aids due to the change in FASFA (#kids at college no longer affect eligibility for needed-base aid).

GeorgiaTech is their dream school but with three attending at the same time, that too much for us.

Are there still ways to get some financial helps from the school?

Unfortunately not from OOS public. Do not even bother… GT priority is instate students.
I have DD in GT and had 3 in college last year (not triplets), they gave big fat 0. (EFC was 25k per kid).
No family can pay $150k a year OOS…Not realistic.
Private will work with you. No lack with OOS public. Even 3 in any instate flagship maybe more than 3 in private now with some merit and FA.

What are other options for your 3 kids?

AFAIK Tech has never given institutional need based aid to OOS students, it has nothing to do with FAFSA changes. Hopefully you have affordable options, triplets entering all at one time is a lot! Good luck to all.

U of Maryland College Park. They also got some scholarships there.

Just told them can’t afford it with their older sister at Michigan and one brother is going to attend GT this fall

So you have 4 in college?
And you are paying for Umich and Gatech OOS and 2 more instate UMD?
Wow! What are their majors?

We are also from MD. We told no to Umich tuition cost.
None chose UMD (had scholarship too). One is in small LAC (costs less than UMD), another in private.

Um-hum, seems many kids don’t want to go to their state flag schools…

They choose majoring in mechanicals eng, CS and biology (for the time being?!). The one to GT is ME.

I should have been clearer, their older sister just graduated from umich

Actually good trade. CS is good at UMD and Biology is fine at any school.
That is still close to 100k a year for 3 of them!

Thank you! got in for CS major, Fall Atlanta campus; OOS
