Let’s face it, anything Dr. Seuss wrote is golden. Except maybe his anti-Japanese propaganda, but let’s save that discussion for another time.

Onto another topic… koala bears vs panda bears. Which is more awesome?

Onto another topic… koala bears vs panda bears. Which is more awesome?

well, a panda would probably emerge victorious in a battle to the death, but koalas might be cuter. there is some animal at the kansas city zoo called a… red panda? I think? and it is a total baller, although I think it technically is a member of the koala family… this complicates matters.

Never seen a red panda. And I remember this song from 2nd grade with the lyrics “Don’t call me a koala bear, a koala bear. For I’m not a bear at all” and such… :o

My school sent out Mid-Year Reports on Friday by DHL! Yes!! I’m so nervous!

If you were a food, what would you be? (come on guys, carleton is quirky)
carrot… i love the colour!!

that’s “color” in the good ole’ United States of America, not “colour”…

You’ll need to learn how to speak American, not English, if you go to Carleton.

Juuust kidding. Nice to meet you all.

Has anybody here visited Carleton? My friend’s there and she says there’s like one main street in Northfield… True? She’s planning to make a video of Northfield and send it to me. :)

Konstantine/Andie - I love Oasis’s “Wonderwall”, too! And Cruel Intentions (oooh, that soundtrack!) and Bend It Like Beckham… I just love the coach’s expression after he kissed her in the airport. His expression…he looked like he really cherished it and was in awe of how great it felt!

I’ve visited Carleton, and there are really two main streets - the east/west street from the interstate (where you can find St. Olaf and the MaltOMeal factory) and the north/south street that follows the river.

Northfield is a small town, but it’s pretty and charming. But there are grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Just google Northfield and look at images.

ana, in the aeroplane over the sea is one of the most beautiful albums i have ever heard. i love it. so much. if only i was old enough when they were still playing shows… the live albums are amazing. have you heard any of them?

Well, my combined SAT is now a 2270 (M780 R740 W750)

Unfortunately, my highest single sitting is still a 2190 (M780 R680 W730 and M700 R740 W750).

Ugh…maybe if I had just reviewed certain concepts…

Hey, that’s still really really good. My highest (only took it once out of 2400) is 2030. Beating an average of 700 per test is pretty good in my eyes.

But you’re from Romania :-P

I’ve lived in the U.S. all my life.

LOL, I’m not too worried about my scores. I heard that some colleges combine SATs…maybe Carleton is one of those? Doubt it.

I’m currently living in Romania but I’m not from Romania. My entire schooling has been done in International schools. I’ve gotten Americanized I spell the American way (much to the horror of my British-spelling relatives and parents) and insist on calling it “soccer” instead of “football”, which scandalized hardcore World Cup friends. :p

And no offense to Americans, but a lot of Americans at my school can’t really spell whereas the non-native speakers can whip their butts at the spelling bee. :S

Don’t colleges combine SAT’s as a rule, though? If they don’t…mhmm… Sucks.

So they combine SATs, but not ACTs? That friggin’ awsome!

Yeah, Americans are a little lazy in general… Haha, yes, I’m stereotyping… but it seems true for the most part.

Cultural differences, that’s all.

My parents are immigrants, and each of the my brothers and sisters were born on a different continent (3 in all). I’m the only American in the family.

Update: Got a 34 on my ACT. Needless to say, i’m super happy.

Moral of the story: it’s a bad idea to study the nights before the test. This was the only time I didn’t study the week before…and I guess my brain was rested.

But seriously folks, ACT/SAT scores don’t mean much. There are plenty of people smarter than their scores.

Go, you, johnny dr! thumbs up Heh, I hope everybody here will get acceptances!

Hmmm…I’m suppose to get a FedEx package today. wonders worries Arrrggh!

Good job johnnydr!

Gosh… April is so far away. I’ve started flipping out because I don’t think I showed Carleton enough interest, but there’s no way I can go visit until after I’m accepted (IF i get accepted). Is there any way to show interest now??

Email them. Ask them questions.

I sorta wish I’d interviewed for some schools too…

Favorites (movie, book, tv show, song,…)

Fav movie: ‘What remains of us’ . it’s a very controversial tibetan documentary film. i give all my fingers and toes up for this. Whitechicks was one very funny movie. Umm, can’t remember. I watch lots of movies and forget that i even watched those.
Book: Catcher in the Rye, Freedom in exile, Da Vinci Code, Harry Potter, Bill bryson’s notes from the big country, Long Road home, The little Prince, The American Star, (i would say, i am a big time reader. Good Books are heaven for me! )

Why Carleton? There is something about the name. it has a homely feeling. Seriously. <carleton college=“”> ( am i the only person with this strange little fixation/amusement with Carl’s name. just wondering.hmm.) lots of other reasons: small LAC, ranking, student faculty ratio, suburban area, good financial package(received full aid> ED1) many others, carleton’s sure going to be a great experience in the next four years. i can feel that!!(wink)</carleton>

Why not Carleton? Umm… too cold? but i will be okay with that. Can’t find any other reasons why not carleton.

If you were a food, what would you be? (come on guys, carleton is quirky)
Food?
I would be spinach. I hate it. and many ppl do. People won’t cook me and eat me. So i will still be living. Okay, i agree… that was stuipid.
On serious note, I would be a very hot chilly masala curry. (very hot!)

-see ya ppl. keep posting
