Going Out of my Mind!

@Nurse001 - Yes, but not a strong urge

Well, revisit the thought. Is it a better school? Does it offer what she’s looking for?

Gosh I think she should still stick with UMD then unless her top schools come through. My son applied to UMD in 2015 but we are OOS and no money followed so it was not considered. Being so close to Washington is amazing.

@MYOS1634 Better as in ‘prestige’ - yes; much smaller and Liberal Arts v UMD Uni & huge! Definitely has what she’s looking for in terms of academic focus, but, so does UMD…The part about ‘I’ll talk to my mom’ made me laugh!

I wasn’t thinking in terms of prestige, I was thinking of fit. It sounded like UMD was a good fit, but that she liked some WL colleges better.

Ack! Can you tell us which one? In any case, at least she has a commitment someplace good already!

Tell me again what her objection is to Emory. I know so many people with children attending and every single one just loves the place to death. Same with McGill. Both of these schools have terrific reputations, name recognition and placement records. Has she articulated to you exactly what it is that is giving her pause with these two schools?

The gap year may make perfect sense given her indecisiveness, but I agree with your plan of making it clear she would have to be employed and support herself.

Emory and McGill are no longer possibilities. She has turned them down.
