They are reporting the coldest Halloween in years across much of the country, with… can it be… snow flurries in some areas? I have a bunch of candy (though some has jumped in my mouth in recent days). The good news- its a Friday so maybe will get more visitors. But the bad news… its going to be COLD. Forecast in the 30’s! In the South! What’s the forecast in your neck of the woods?

Cold. Rain turning to snow/snow flurries. Wind. Northwest Ohio.

Sounds lovely, right?

No problem. The last couple of years we have had 150-200 kids - if we have less, I’ll just start dumping more candy in the kids bags!

Thinking with the cold I might have to get some hot apple cider going to offer the parents that come to the door that I know! I’ve done that several past years.

Dusting of snow this mornings on the lawn and pumpkins. Roofs were covered in snow.

Where are you at Madison - would that be Wisconsin??? (Madison…)

Yes!

MY DH was just up there for a game and a mini reunion!

pouring rain and 50 degrees in the PNW

Albany. Today mid 50’s and sunny. Tonight rain & 40.

We hardly get any kids so I didn’t buy any candy this year. We’re going out for a bite to eat and to the movies. Either Gone Girl or Birdman.

I read it was snowing in Chicago this morning!

^^^Yep… I slept in and it had stopped by the time I got up, so in my mind, it did NOT snow today.
Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.

Reporting snow for tonight.

Where I’m from, not really all that unusual.

Even though it’s cold and very, very windy here today (right now 34°, gusts up to 38 MPH being reported), it still beats the crap out of one Halloween, perhaps almost 20 years ago, when it was pouring rain and about 35°. It was a Thursday night and the Bears were playing at home and people across the country had sympathy for our trick-or-treaters when they saw on national TV how bad it was here.

NE: tonight at 6pm, we’re looking at a Real Feel of 44. But I remember every year, back to when my kids were little, this night being “butt cold.” I see the average low on Oct 31 runs about 40. Our snow comes Sun, “a bit” of it.
50 right now, nice. Plenty of trees still have plenty of leaves and they’re beautiful.

Here in Las Vegas it’s supposed to be 80 degrees at sunset. We got lucky this year.

After a couple of years with blizzards with downed trees and electricity going out, we’re not minding that the weather is colder, but dry!

It will be in the 40’s here in Michigan, with a wind that is expected to make it feel like it’s in the 30’s. There may be snow for trick-or-treating. Just another lovely Halloween in the mitten state.

I will sit on my porch with my neighbor, bundled in our winter coats, passing out candy. We can’t break tradition just because it’s a bit chilly! :)

Perfect! Upper 50s to low 60s. Clear as a bell with a light NE breeze.

Cool and pouring rain in Seattle.

However, we have never had a single trick or treater, and don’t expect one tonight. It’s winter already, where can I go for some sun?

High 70’s tonight for trick or treating in Phoenix - plan to wear my witch sandals! Kind of helps make up for 115 over the summer!

You made me look. According to Weather Channel this evening we will have low 60’s with a good possibility of rain. We have never had a trick or greater in the 27 years we have lived here. So no candy in our house. S and his GF love to dress up and they usually stop by to show us their costumes. This year they are living in a house in a neighborhood so they might get some kids.
Hoping the rain deters the huge amount of partygoers who head to our local university for Halloween. Halloween on a Friday near a university known for a huge Halloween bash is not pretty. Praying everyone stays safe.
Praying also for some decent rain because we desperately need it.
