Seasonable temps here in PA. Highs mid 50s, lows mid 40s, but they were threatening us with snow flurries earlier in the week, so I guess it was supposed to be colder.

Wow… hard to imagine no trick-or-treaters. We can get upwards of a 100 kids or so.

Pouring rain and about 50. Not great for the little goblins. :(

It is even going to be cold for those of us out here in CA! The high will be around 65 (which I know is probably warm for a lot of you), but when it was 80 yesterday, 65 just feels like it is freezing. We are expecting rain tonight too…on the one night of the year when millions of Americans are out roaming the streets!

I live on the South Shore of Long Island, right outside the city where in midtown Manhattan at the moment it is very cloudy and a bit nippy. Haven’t had a trick or treater at my house for years and don’t expect to see any this year. I was a museum opening event last night on 5th Avenue and I can tell you that there are many brownstones and apartment buildings on the Upper East Side all decked out and very spooky.

What’s more, our school district has done away with any Halloween celebrations this year. I feel sad for the elementary school kids to be losing the tradition of the costume parade. The weather is so icky it would be nice to have that chance to dress up and parade around at the end of the school day. Boo on the district!

Our across the street neighbors used to pull their kids out of school the last hour because they believed that the Devil was literally roaming at large on Halloween. That was fine for them but they didn’t impose it on everyone else.

Awwww. I feel bad for the kids who’ll have to cover up their costumes with coats and jackets. I remember that was the WORST back in the day when my kids went trick-or-treating-- heck, it was the worst when I went trick-or-treating! I always think Halloween would be so much more fun for everyone if it took place a month earlier.

Mid 40s and raining in SWPA. We don’t get many kids, just a few neighbors, as most kids go to the newer housing plans with sidewalks and houses closer together. The weather will mean even fewer will come here. They are predicting a dusting of snow overnight.

My kids always dressed as Harry Potter, Hobbits, Elves, knights etc. so no worries about cold or wet. I’m afraid I may need to put my rain poncho over my Snow White costume tonight, though ;)

I’m can handle the cold, but if the wind blows over my yard inflatables one more time…

Yea, I decided mine aren’t going up this year. Not that I could even get it up at this point with the wind now gusting at 40+MPH.

It is snowing now as I sit by the window. Luckily for the local kids coats will look fine with their Frozen costumes.

Come south to Fl, 81’ tonight. Saintfan, I love the outfit. I picked up another big bag of candy from Costco. By the time I get home from work, I’ll miss the little kids.

One year we let the kids T&T at the mall. Candy wasn’t so great, but they loved the attention.

The today show staff dressed to commemorate almost 40 years of SNL. They didn’t look cold this morning.
I remember the Halloween NY blizzard because it was the year we were trying to sell dad’s house. That didn’t help :(

The in-laws have a timeshare in Hilton Head the last week of October. We used to take the kids (before it got to be too much to pull them out of school for a week), and we were usually there for Halloween. The weather was perfect, and there was awesome treat-or-treating at the strip malls nearby. The kids seriously missed that when they were back in MI trick-or-treating in winter coats!

Saw that and almost linked it!

still pouring . . . maybe just a bit harder now

1991: Minnesota blizzard on Halloween, 3 feet of snow.

Goskid#2 and 6 other kids from our old neighborhood are now 22 years and 3 months old ;)
