Hey, romani - here’s one school that’s still open: Wayne State. Really?

Yep, Wayne State hasn’t closed yet. And we’re up to over 700 school closings. Some districts, mainly in Macomb County, have closed for Monday and Tuesday already. My S has a snow day. I have a work from home day= We got a corporate wide email saying some facilities may close and then we got emails from our director and C-level Exec both saying “Please work from home”.

Well, as soon as I posted about Wayne State - it announced closure for tomorrow!

Between the 12 inches of snow, the wind chill, and the fact that Detroit is pretty bad at plowing its streets - I knew it was only a matter of time.

I was just coming back here to say that about Wayne State. 791 closings on Click on Detroit. Dang!

WDIV has 785 listings right now. Weird about Wayne State. Tried to go to their website but it’s down.

Are they in session tomorrow?

All the cross-posts lol

They have closed- at 8:27 pm.

I think this might be the most closings I’ve ever seen.

Ema, I can almost guarantee it’s the most I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t normally hit EVERYWHERE like this.

UCinti is closed for the day tomorrow. As my son says, too bad he’s on co-op this semester!

So far it’s still above freezing here but the forecast is for 10 below. Imagine if all this rain were snow–we’d be buried.

My city sent out a reminder to dig out your fire hydrant so firemen can find it in case of an emergency.

I wish I’d seen it sooner, I’m not sure where the hydrant is anymore!

U of M sent out an email/notice- Ann Arbor and Health System to stay OPEN. Flint and Dearborn are closed.

I haven’t gotten anything as an employee of the university. I sure hope most university units are telling their employees not to come in (my job doesn’t start back up until next week luckily). Eesh.

Yikes and holy double mackerel! Florida is going to turn real cold Monday. In central Florida by me tonight (Sunday) it is supposed to go down to 64 degrees low…tomorrow night it’s supposed to drop to low of 25 degrees with ‘real feel’ temp of 10 degrees! I better get my thermal bikini out.

reads lizard’s post
No, no, no, It can’t be true!

looks at wether report
cries

46 degrees on Tuesday? What am I supposed to do in 46 degree weather?? At least my low is 34 degrees. It’s going to be a cold walk back from the gym…I’ll just have to run it back I guess…

I got notice that my grad school is closed tomorrow. Sadly, since my program is all online, tomorrow’s lecture and homework packet will still be posted promptly at 6 pm.

I got notice that it is a snow emergency day at work and we should work from home.

I get no breaks here…lol.

Wow! All these closings! Definitely the most I’ve ever seen… What about Eastern? I heard Western is closed.

And Niquii… Lol! While you’re at it, come run through and clear out the 12 inches of snow on my porch. :P

EMU is closed. Not sure if it’s been on stations yet.

ETA: LOL The Michigan Senate closed. Which is funny, because they’re not in session on Mondays anyway and are almost never in office. Good news for the staff that’s supposed to come in though :)

And I’m sorry, 2016BarnardMom.
if it’s any consolation, I have an online class too and I’m probably going to work on it tomorrow anyway.
I might as well get ahead while I don’t have my other classes to worry about.

I think most (if not all) of community colleges are closed, too. Although it did take OCC longer to close than OU when their main campus is literally only 5 minutes away from ours… Lol. The same thing happened with public k-12 schools. My mom’s district closed at 11:30 and some in the same county have just only recently done so.

You don’t even have to look. All Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota schools are gonna be close tomorrow.

I just went out to try and shovel the patio and I was mid-thigh deep in snow-- and I am 5’7, I’m not short. Some of it was drift but I think I am going to end up with over a foot. Still haven’t heard anything from my office. Unless my neighborhood is plowed I won’t be going anywhere unless I strap on some snow shoes and walk.

Annarbor.com is saying that because the temps are so cold, too cold for salt to be effective, it could be 2-3 days before roadways are cleared. My brother in law in Jackson says the freeway is closed and cops are telling people to turn around and go home.

I am really sore. I was trying to swipe away the two feet of snow that is banked on my patio table and my sides are KILLING ME.
