Guilty Pleasures, TV edition

I just watched 10 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Great show. I have decided the more morally lacking the characters the more I like the show.

I watched Shameless until I gave up Showtime. My wife could not understand it.

I was going to say Limitless because it’s clever and visually interesting even if you don’t learn anything from it, but it seems 'guilty pleasure ’ means 'something you know isn’t good but you watch it anyway ’ - where I am (professional environment I guess) ‘guilty pleasure’ is Grey’s anatomy  - well, basically anything that’s not cable.
People’s couch sounds hilarious, I’ll give it a try.

Peoples’Court or Judge Judy.

Actually don’t watch ether anymore, but they sure were mindless.

I’m watching the OJ show now. Wasting time?

Binged Gilmore Girls a few months ago, The Incredible Kimmy Schmidt, working on Mozart in the Jungle… Just about anything on HGTV!

Speaking of old TV, I loved “Courtship of Eddies Father”. This episode is with a very young Jody Foster.

I’m still watching Billions and I’ve decided it is in the guilty pleasures category. Paul Giamatti, great as he is, doesn’t make it highbrow, I feel like I’ve eaten a bag of greasy chips at the end of every episode.

^ That sounds like MST3k, one of my all time favorite shows, never even felt guilty about it…

Real Housewives allll day. In particular, NY & NJ. I watch a lot of ‘trashy’ TV but I make up for it by binge watching episodes of The Sopranos and The West Wing!

My husband and I share some pleasures, like any of the many Ancient Alien shows. And Finding Bigfoot. Spoiler: they never find anything. Ever. We don’t specifically search for them, but do watch sometimes.

My personal DVR’d guilty pleasures (which cause my husband to go into a coma, or otherwise die): Dance Moms. Project Runway, Real Housewives of NY, Flipping Out (and anything else Jeff Lewis is doing).

My husband’s DVR’d guilty pleasure (which causes me to fall into a coma or otherwise die): Air Disasters.

The guilty pleasures are the ones we watch alone, to save each other from the coma and death.

The new Sharknado will be out in June, I think.

For a while, I used to watch the investigation discovery channel, with all these lurid cases, involving cheating and murder, black widow wives, lesbian love triangles that end in murder, etc…

“And Finding Bigfoot. Spoiler: they never find anything. Ever. We don’t specifically search for them, but do watch sometimes.” That is true of so many shows, the “Curse of Oak Island” on History being the worst of that, with this breathless voice over talking about “The Templars? The Romans” with every bit of crap they supposedly find…and i keep watching it! At least “Searching for Hitler” had guys working on it who were serious investigators and unfolder it step by step (that Hitler may have made it to south America), without all the hysterics or claiming anything other than it was possible for him to have escaped…There was another show, Searching for Giants, that I kind of liked, but it was similar, clues and such, but nothing really found…at the end of the show’s first season, they were supposed to dig up the skeleton of someone who may have been a giant from colonial days, but looks like they won’t have another season…

I haven’t seen the latest one, looking for the infamous SS Republic treasure, but I wonder if that will end up whimpering out.

Not a guilty pleasure by any means, but I watched “Inside the world’s toughest prisons” on Netflix this weekend… all I can say is, wow… :open_mouth:

I love anything stupidly spooky - “Paranormal Witness” on Syfy and/or “My Haunted House.”
