Harvard Waitlist Thread 2029

so is there likely a wave this week or nah

Didnt they have a class size of like ~1400 a couple years ago?

That was Covid-related. Many deferred rather than doing remote

do u know how much they’re at rn because of all the intl student drama? bc idt they’ll be able to block all intl students but some may opt to not go to us anymore bc of the political climate, so that may empty up spots right?

The situation remains fluid. Do I think spots will open up as a result? Yes. But that’s only an opinion

oh yeah makes sense bc nothing is really definitive rn so yeah

No. My Counselor contacted them and she said they’re unsure of when the next group of decisions are released. I think decisions will be here by Mid July.

No.

mid july is crazy work :skull:

Transfer students on the WL received notification of decisions coming out in mid-July. If you don’t want to stay on the waitlist, you can email Harvard to get your application removed.

Is there any idea, the number of the students they will take this year will be more or less than last year (41) ?

No, it is anyone’s guess at this point.

My personal opinion is we’d have more come off this year.

would that only become clear by mid july tho? why not a wave this week?

Currently, there is an ongoing case with the administration. Transfer students on the waitlist were notified that decisions will be made by mid-July. Could this be different for undergrads who are on the waitlist? Possibly.

I personally don’t think a wave will happen this week because the judge has not made a decision yet.

what if the case is ongoing all the way until the start of the fall term? bc i feel like w the current govt its a real possibility so what happens in that case?

They will have to admit students from the waitlist, and make internationals possibly take a deferral or tell tell them to go to their local university. During visitas this year intl were told to have a spot at their local college just in case.

If harvard knows the case will be ongoing I think we’ll start hearing decisions as soon as next week, but that is just my guess. The most logical date is by mid-July. Many students are still unable to schedule visa appointments

does your source know anything good?

No other than what I have said here.

so no one expecting anything tmr?
