Darn. Well you can’t blame me for trying. I actually don’t know how to access the thread for last years Harvard waitlist, but I bet it would be some interesting reading. How many total messages did they have?
i was actually referring to Harvard class of 2024 (2020 hs seniors). They had 1100+ messages I believe.
I cant post links, but if you search up harvard waitlist 2024 cc, you should be able to find it
Shout out to squadhandler for singlehandedly accounting for a fifth of this thread
another question for you all: would you instantly accept an offer of admission, consider it, or reject it if it came in today?
also I just realized my high school email account just got shut down, meaning I wouldn’t even get an email telling me the portal had an update. I guess I’ve just got to just check it and check back in here
you know it.
I’d accept if it came before Aug 7th when I have to pay tuition elsewhere
consider for sure
Do you guys think this coming week will be the last week of waiting? I think that is very likely.
I think 95% likely.
90% that we get decisions and a final close by monday.
I would give 98 percent that we will hear by August 6th.
Ooops I mean 89 percent not 98 percent.
What’s the significance of 8/6?
I don’t have any real reason why I picked Aug 6th. I just feel Harvard is going to keep trying to negotiate a settlement and figure out its financial and political and legal situation for as long as possible and so they are going to take the final closing of the waitlist even past what they did last year. Aug 6th just seemed like a good mid-week guesstimate of a date for another mass e-mail???
Interesting article. More reason to think there will be continued delays…
The 2 previous waves seemed to happen on a Thursday or Friday so I suspect August 7-8. They just got their final deferral decisions this past Thursday so they gotta know what they’re working with.
This threat holds no weight because Democrats don’t have a majority in either chamber of Congress. Even then, an investigation isn’t really a threat to begin with.
I don’t think this will cause any additional delays, as this is something Harvard can push off and deal with later (if the investigation even happens).
I believe Harvard will release decisions this upcoming Monday. They’re operating under a time crunch and know that there is a huge cost to even minor delays in getting out waitlist decisions.
During the COVID-year waitlist (Class of 2024), they released a mass wave of decisions on the first Monday in August.

If it’s Monday, it means everyone will be rejected?
