yeah, stressedoutt, but that’s why you mix up college hoodies. I have some from about five different random schools (some of which i’m not applying to), but I’m linked to all the schools in a way or another so I can justify wearing them.

My family always jokes how my sister bought a Dartmouth sweatshirt and Christmas ornament right after sending in her ED application. Pretty cocky, but she had a 2400 so she probably had a right to be confident, haha.

She got in, right? Lol

Yup! haha. That ornament goes on our tree every year.

Haha that’s awesome… Did she end up going there?

Yeah she did, and loved it. I’ve obviously been there a few times and she’s told me quite a bit so if any of you Dartmouth hopefuls (me included), have questions, ask away.

I actually ruled Dartmouth out entirely early on in my college search - there are a lot of things I love about it, but it’s the Greek Life… how is that?

The greek life is as prevalent as advertised. Rush season was very tough for her and made a dent on her self esteem. You need to have a thick skin. Its even tougher for guys with frats; they’re even more intense at times. Honestly, the greek life is the major flaw for me that gives me pause about dartmouth

Yeah, so I won’t be applying to Dartmouth.

So who’s ready to be a senior next year?! WHOOP WHOOP!

I won’t be applying to Dartmouth because I figure 4 ivies is already enough…

I’m super excited for next year!! I’ll be going into school at 9 and out at 12. Just got my car to! :)

Dartmouth is honestly probably my top choice. If my thinking is flawed PLEASE INFORM ME.

1) D-Plan seems awesome. Internships woooo. Also I like the sophomore summer thang.
2) Am I the only person who likes the idea of greek life? I feel like once rush season is over I will enjoy it. Plus at Dartmouth you get all of freshman year to decide before rushing sophomore year, which is convenient. I enjoy dat fratty, preppy vibe. Actually most of the schools on my list have a preppy vibe (Georgetown, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Harvard (yolo), etc.)
3) Small schools > large schools in my opinion
4) NH seems chill. I’m visiting soon.
5) I like the outdoors and I like skiing
5) Campus seems pretty from online stuff. Visiting soon (obvs). Woops this is the second 5 (betcha didn’t notice)
6) Alumni network seems strong.
7) Ibankers are cool. I kinda wanna double major in econ, not sure. They have a good econ program.

Yeah, there you go. Sadly, I won’t be applying ED for two reasons: I am a third gen legacy at Harvard and feel like it would be stupid not to use that boost in SCEA. Also I have an inferiority complex and actually care if I get into Harvard, even if I don’t end up going (lol). Oh and I need to compare aid packages because my annoyingly rich stepdad makes like a gazillion dollars that some schools factor into financial aid but he’s not giving me monayyyy (love that guy…).

That was three, but you get my point.

The frats at Dartmouth are the main reason that I prefer Williams. Also tutorials!!

I think I’m going to apply SCEA to Princeton though.

As for apparel I feel like t shirts are fine (wearing a Williams t shirt right now) but sweatshirts are awfully committal.

Haha, please explain your rationale.

Sweatshirts cost more so it’s like you’re investing yourself in the school more? That makes, uh, relative sense.

What are everyones safety schools? I honestly cant think if any id be happy at without feeling like im selling myself short…im at a loss! If it helps my current list is duke (#1) notre dame uva unc tufts dartmouth
penn bc and maybe yale (none are really safeties, maybe bc is though because according to the schools guidence program online all the my stats are above what is needed)

I think my safeties are UConn (state school) and maybe like Northeastern or Indiana… haven’t put too much thought into them.

I need another safety or two that I would happily attend. But if all else fails, look to Canada! I’m not kidding - some unis with great international name recognition, decent education, cool people, and if I’m not mistaken, much cheaper!

Or otherwise… Transylvania U. :)
