Wow Rachel! That’s a lot of schools haha

What annoys me the most is that I thought I had actually done something productive and finished my list of colleges but now I have to go back and adjust it. :/

Though I guess I’m happy I realized this now and not in October. That would have been bad.

@ Rachel CUNY schools typically are safeties; the reason acceptance rated are so low is because 100k students plus apply every year to the entire CUNY system. Of those 100k maybe 60% get in but in this percentage the Community Colleges are included and there are ALOT so the actual CUNY colleges acceptance as a whole is a rough estimate ( that’s what the guy at the open house said lol)

And to add to Yankee, the kids with low test scores son usually end up at the actual Univeristies in CUNY but to one of the (20 or so?? I’m not sure) community colleges. Numbers don’t always give the complete story.

But I agree with Cthisis CUNY as far as a social life, doesn’t Go to far since all CUNY schools are commuter campuses although queens, city and Brooklyn now have dorms.
Have you considered SUNY Schools? I have some info on a few if you have any questions.

Jeesh you guys act like CUNY schools are horrible and they really aren’t. Even looking at what it takes to get in, they certainly aren’t the bottom of the barrel. City college for example has an excellent engineering program and like 95% of hunter nursing students pass their nursing exam on the first try. Their low acceptance comes from the high want of NYS residents because they are cheap; not bad. If you look at the honors program and Macaulay program the standards are pretty high. Maybe not Harvard caliber but not the local CC either.

For a little over 5,000 a year, i’ll be applying to Queens College either way lol. That will be my safeties safety.

I looked at the tuition for OOS, and it’s a lot cheaper than most places. I might have to apply for financial reasons.

On another note, how many of you are coffee addicts? I’ve found the best coffee you can get without spending a lot. It’s that International Delight Iced Coffee from the refrigerator section. The mocha is amazing. It’s like coffee and chocolate milk. I’m completely addicted to it.

I’m a kid, I don’t drink coffee.

What does being a kid have anything to do with coffee? I started drinking it when I started high school.

If coffee really does stunt growth it doesn’t matter for me because I stopped growing at 14.

I love coffee! Every day I have a cup lol. But I’ll be applying to queens to :)

Word.
10char

I hate the taste of coffee.
And @Jazzii, it’s so cheap so why not just incase :P

Yeah, coffee tastes gross, but smells so damn good.

Also;

dear lord there is so much truth in this, I can’t even. @.@

Pfft. Kids. How old are you guys anyways? Lol.

I’m older than most of the kids in my grade at school because FL’s cut off is in September. I turn 18 in November (4 months!).

I’m like the youngest because I started school in Queens which has a late cut off date… Turning 17 in December :P

Turning 18 in January… one of the older kids, but not the oldest in my class.

I’m also one of the youngest in my grade. The cut off in Brooklyn is December 31st, my birthday is the 15th. So I’m still 16 going into senior year. The only thing that sucks about it is that I can’t drive yet and all my friends can.
About the coffee- I LOVE COFFEE. I started drinking it when I started high school, and now I drink 2 cups a day. It didn’t stunt my growth, I’ve grown 3 inches since 9th grade.

I’m 18 in January, that’s so old :(

I will drink the wateriest, most goblin-p!ss-like coffee if it means I don’t get a caffeine headache. I’ve been drinking coffee since I was eight. I’m young for my grade [just turned 17].

Can’t wait to tour Duke and Georgetown! My mom scheduled a whole day in the middle to sightsee in DC [I’ve never been].

I’m the second youngest in my class, turning 17 on december 23! It’s gonna feel so weird applying to college and I am only 16.

Same, being 17 in college is going to be weird when some roomates could be 19 :P
