High School Class of 2014

The extent of my Latin language knowledge is salve and vale…lol.

So I was adding my college list so far to Navience and it turns out I have 13 colleges that I’m applying to… Oops And I’m sure to add more…

what’s naviance?

Ehmergerd, I love Latin! I would never put myself through the hell of taking the Latin subject test though, lol.

@ironchariot It’s basically a way of keeping track of everything (recs, colleges, scores etc) It’s only through your school though

haha yeah I have like 20 schools marked on naviance… I keep telling myself I’ll eliminate some but it’s not happening :/

I know, right? I’m going to be that kid who has 30 schools who’s writing like 50 essays.

YES!!! I just scored my practice SAT test and I’m in the 750+/800 range for writing! So happy! :)

Sorry. That was random and not related to the conversation. I feel like I’m applying to a zillion schools too.

I might end up applying to 20ish, including Canada. I think most require essays, though I might drop one Canadian school. Plus, i have to do a few specialty major scholarship competition apps.

:(

Sometimes I feel like I’m a dull person. It’s probably because I really don’t know myself well but I just don’t fit that great into the CA prompts. The first question works because I moved a lot, am of a different cultural background that is of increasing importance to me, my family history is involved in it etc. etc. but I don’t know how to really write about it.

I’m not going to apply to more than 10 because of money and because I don’t want to be that person who applies to like 20 schools… It’s so hard to narrow down though. I wish it was free to apply…

I know, I feel the same way when looking at the prompts!! It’s hard to look at yourself and see someone interesting… ugh, I wish I had some perfect interesting thing to write about.

My parents think it’s good I have options, so they want me to apply many places. I guess in the larger perspective - if I get in somewhere and I like it/can afford it, it’s a better investment than not applying and ending up at a big public school in Canada (i.e. all of them).

I’m applying to six; I feel like that’s a prefect number. I’m paying the colleges applications myself, so I can’t afford to go overboard.

At the moment I’m applying to three reaches, three matches, and three safeties. This will cost around $450… I’ve written six essays to be used on nine different prompts, and I have four essays left to write.

I’m at 10-12 at the moment.

Less if I get into UVA EA.

A couple of my schools have no supplement so those get to stay. My two safeties stay. My favorites stay. That only leaves a couple to get rid of but without those, I’m all reaches and safeties so I have to keep my matches. And that leaves none to get rid of :/

My current list is at 5, maybe 6, maybe 7. If I apply to 7, it will be 1 safety, 3 fairly easy matches, and 3 reaches. If it’s 5, subtract 2 reaches.

I have 2 safeties, 4 matches and 6/7 reaches. I know that’s a lot of reaches but I love them all :/
