The thing is I’ve seen just about every Carleton C video on the Internet lol… Wow I didn’t even notice the missing ‘e’ -_-

@ybrown234: Yeah, my interview was on campus. So I actually did a summer program at Carleton, which is the reason I was on campus. The people there are chill. For lack of better one-word-descriptor.

The professors really care about teaching - for the most part. There was one professor NOBODY liked - not even actual Carleton students. The main professor I had while I was there let us decide what color she would dye her hair, lol.

@quidditchcat, Saaaame… Massachusetts has a cutoff of 221, and I got a 215…asdfghjkl

Thank goodness for National Achievement.

I got like a 170 lol

I got a 202 on my PSAT. Seriously?

Oh well. I’m pretty sure I’ll get some form of Achievement, although I can’t find past CT cutoffs…

Lol, I got a 40 something on my writing section.

So Amherst just sent me am email about their diversity open house or whatever. And this was included:

I’m sort of perplexed by this. I mean they wouldn’t allow an applicant to judge another persons application, would they? Anyways, I’m applying to their open house just for that though.

That’s…weird, but presumably they mean you’ll be making judgments on real applications from the past.

^ Yeah probably.

a-a-a-advertisement. Uchicago advertised their swag

I got an email about Amherst’s diversity open house too (though I’m not really a URM or anything, so idk if I’ll apply), but it didn’t include the stuff about becoming an admissions counselor!

@CollegeLuva101: What’s national achievement?

OMG I’ve gotten so many applications for diversity open houses and what not. I’m not an underrepresented minority in the terms of that word, but I guess they don’t have that many Japanese people.

So far I’ve gotten invites to apply to diversity open houses from Harvey Mudd, Swarthmore, Oberlin, and Smith. No Amherst though. Somehow they know my GPA is crap so I wouldn’t get in anyways. That’s what I (only a little bit sarcastically) think.

Stetson University and Florida International University are just so persistent.

And WUSTL, too! Honestly, I requested info maybe…a week ago? And I got 5 pieces of mail already. And I live at least 6000 miles away from them.

What

Same here with WUSTL! I keep getting stuff from them, like viewbooks and everything, that I’ve never even requested… I’m just like, “you’re great but I’m not going to your school because you’re too far away”

Btw, if I got a 226 does that mean I’m definitely a semifinalist, or possibly not?

I requested info from WUSTL and I visited and they’ve sent me like one thing.

NYU, Baylor, and Reed are the schools that are sending me multiple brochures right now.

Oh, and Tulane is my inbox.

National Achievement is National Merit for African-Americans.

Lol I requested from H and M and got nothing.

@TinnyT I actually did just get the email from Amherst that you quoted…

“We’ll wave your application fee. (You read that right. We will WAIVE the Amherst app fee for any student who applies to the College this fall so long as they have been accepted to attend a program. Heck, because we are so generous, we’ll even waive the app fee for students who AREN’T accepted to the program!)”

Does this mean they waive the fee for everyone? Or just people who apply or were invited to apply??

Did they actually say “wave” instead of “waive” in the first sentence?
