High School Class of 2014

Talk to your counselor about fee waivers.

Lol, according to that website I have a 42% chance at Princeton and a 90% chance at CMU.

According to that website I have a 1% chance at WashU… Uh no

Yea I don’t trust it.

What’s the big deal with a hookup scene?

superstalala I wouldn’t put that past WashU…

I don’t trust sites like those, though. I made a superstar profile (Native American, 2400, 4.0) on a similar site and I got something like 60% at Harvard and 67% at the University of Houston. lol

Some parents don’t want to send their precious babies to such an immoral place.

I made an account on Parchment, and when I changed my race to Native American, my odds at MIT jumped from 17% to 41%.

if youre half hispanic and half native american do you get even more benefits?

@Repede, You didn’t answer the question.

MIT had a “if you want to come to our school, then come” attitude to my sister who is like 1,000,000x a better student than me. She ended up at Stanford because MIT was too stingy.

That’s why I fear for my FA package.

Lol, why not a quarter Hispanic, a quarter black, a quarter Native American, and a quarter white so you still have white privilege.

(A Hispanic person can be of any race.)

Lol, you don’t have white privilege unless you are 100% white or look 100% white.

Wait what? Then why do Hispanics get their own little National Merit thing?

How does that relate to whether Hispanic is a race or not?

Yeah, they even get their own question…
“Are you of Hispanic descent?”

“Regardless of your answer to the previous question, select the races you identify as”

Haha what if someone really identifies themselves as say, Asian, when they are biologically white? I know someone who is practically an Asian but she’s white.

Because blacks have their own National Merit thing. And Asians just have the regular one. I thought every race would get something special, you know?

@quidditchcat, found this on urban dictionary

“Transracial
A transracial person is a person whose inner sense of being whatever race and/or their racial expression (their behavior, clothing, haircut, voice, and body characteristics) differ from the race assigned to them at birth. While they may have been born White, they may have always felt themselves to be Black.
Some transracial individuals express their sense of race in their dress, mannerisms, and social roles. Other may require pigment, surgical procedures or hair transplants to bring their bodies into better congruence with their racial identities.
In either case, racial identity as experienced by the individual is the key. While many people confuse transracial and multiracial people, it is important to note that being transracial does not imply any specific race; transracial people may identify with one or more races, or even all.
Because transracial people do not conform to society’s expectations for how any specific race should dress and act, they are often harassed and discriminated against. They face a multitude of obstacles in daily life including safety and physical security concerns, employment discrimination, legal obstacles, and lack of access to important health care.
That White guy sure thinks he’s Black… Maybe he’s Transracial.”

Asians/whites aren’t underrepresented.

What do you mean by that?

brb changing race to Native American.

Then what’s Hispanic?

The Asian recognition program cutoff score would be crazy high.

Also I only recently found out the racial majority in Mexico is white. Those Spaniards really sent in their full force. I wish I could prove I’m not Mestizo, though, so I’d be able to mark Native American :p

Hispanic is someone who can trace their roots back to Spain.
