High School Class of 2014

Welcome Yesway!

I have to read Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and write a 5+ page essay about a time that I’ve used intuition. & I have to teach myself Spanish IV. meh.

I don’t have any official summer work, but I’m doing things that need it - self study french, math IS and religion IS.

Welcome, Yesway. :)

Random note: I worked out this morning and it felt nice.

That awkward moment when I’m so focused on filling out college applications, I forget to fill out my dual enrollment application…

TheKongo - yeah but be careful. Got a 720 on first Barron’s but didn’t time it and didn’t study more. Had 5 mins with 10 questions left but managed a 760. Make sure you’re timing.

Hey seniors ! I have a quick question if I’m applying early action to a school on the common app is there an option to just submit that school app when the time comes in November or must I submit all my regular apps in addition to my early one?

You just have to submit your early app in november, not the others… I thought they were all submitted separately…

@peps I’m pretty confident you can submit your application to different schools separately. You can submit your application to that one school in November, but submit your application to another school in January.

@LoveArtForever, I have the same question because my school uses the same A+ = 4.33 system.

So I just read the Vanderbilt information booklet they sent me and realized that I love the school…

UGH, what is WRONG with me?? Why do I fall in love with colleges so easily??

I kind of have to learn Java for my sunmer work. Any tips, coding aficionados?

For those of you questioning what to do on your GPA scale, the side bar for questions says that if they do not list a scale you use, simply do not list your GPA as it is not required. It will be seen on your transcript anyway!

Anyone, can I ask you for a favor please? I posted a thread on the parent’s cafe, but the forum and thread have been blocked on my computer (automatically, I guess because a certain word was used). Can someone just go over there and comment that migraine says she’s sorry, she can’t respond to anything?

Lol, sure.

I have delivered your message, migraine!

Not sure, but I think my post got removed… I’ll try again.

I just got my schedule because I emailed my counselor. I have (mostly) awesome teachers, it’s just the order of my classes that I don’t like. But that’s okay, having IB history first period might motivate me to come to school on time (not).

@collegeluva- thank you! I think the whole thread got removed…this is so frustrating (and sad). Why doesn’t CC at least email people to at least why?

First day of school, senior year Holla

@superstarlala I had APUSH first period last year and it wasn’t awful because you can get tests done ASAP and stuff, but you can’t finish the hw in school which sucks so you actually have to do it at night/early morning

Ugh, finally made my schedule yesterday (I moved over the summer and this was the earliest that they could fit me in) and all of the good classes were already taken. The only science open was AP Chemistry, which I’m fine with, but I wanted Physics C. I’m also going to have to take a regulars Law class (which I care nothing about) instead of AP Computer Science. Psychology was also completely filled up, AND I’m going to be stuck in a PE class since my credits from my old school didn’t transfer over. Senior year is off to a great start.
