Well, I just got braces, a week before school starts. Hopefully, they won’t be a massive pain in the arse. Anyone else have braces?

My schedule,
Modern civilization
Chemistry
English 10
Latin II
Speech
APUSH
Pre-Calc independent study.

At my school all the classes we take are considered honors, even though we don’t offer anything else.

I have braces! I’m getting them off in a week though.

I start class on September 13th… I actually really want to start now.

And I have no idea what my schedule will be. I really hope I qualify for College Chem though. Otherwise I think I have a typical sophomore schedule, aside from Acting and Views of Human Nature.

^ I go back September 7th, and I really am looking forward to it. This summer has sort of passed in a blur.

^Same with me. NYC’ers unite.

@evanb1996–so you’re only taking four classes? Are you on block schedule, or am I just entirely wrong?

@evanh14: My school operates on a block schedule with the classes being 95-105 minutes because of the new 185 day law passed by the NC Board of Education. My school system decided not to do the 185 days, but add 30 minutes to the day because it couldn’t afford to run the schools an extra 5 days.

@nothingto: How’s life in NYC? That’s one place I want to visit over my lifetime.

@evanb1996

Horrible. Trust me, you do not want to EVER live there. Maybe visit Manhattan, but NEVER go to Brooklyn/Queens/Bronx/Staten Island. Illegal activities, gangs, and all the negative influence such as the Ghettos.

I was robbed three times and mugged twice mostly (ALL) by a specific race (not gonna say it, but I think you guys will know).

That’s why I want to leave NYC, and go to a Out-Of-State university.

As I said, Manhattan is EXCELLENT. Just not the other boroughs which I am unfortunately living in.

^ Ugh. I am a black female, it’s totally disheartening what you just said. Though it’s true what you wrote, it wasn’t necessary to mention the race.

^He didn’t denounce any race; he simply made an observation. I have a few black friends, and they’re great people.

@anaychi: I have braces–I hate them! They have noticeably improved my smile, though. I can’t wait until I get them taken off next March.

As I said, I didn’t mention any race. Nor do I hate the race. I have many friends who are of that race. More then you actually know coming from a guy who’s school is about 40% filled with them.

I am just stating the facts of those who mugged me, I NEVER said anything negative about them, however, it’s obvious by now as to which race I am talking about.

I never he said he denounced the race. Or put them down. The “disheartening” comment was because I know a lot of blacks participate in that (along with others). I just said it wasn’t necessary to mention it. That’s all.

I just got my braces a few months ago… :(

I visited NYC in June, Manhattan was a nice place.

@tofugirl: It just looked to me like you made an unwarranted assumption regarding the intention of his post. Though I guess you didn’t, so I rescind my comment.

@evanb1996 : sadly, the priority for Human Diseases are for Juniors and Seniors, and sophomores are put into the class only if there is space left over.
I have hope though :), one of my friend’s sister got placed that elective during Sophomore year (it made her very neurotic though :P).

Hey guys, any of you have or are a part of a medical club at your schools? I am thinking of establishing one and I need some suggestions on how to go about it and what we could do in the club.

^ what do you plan to do in this club?
Study the body? Play Operation?

^^Check out HOSA (Google it).

@evanb1996–ah, i thought so. How do you like block schedule? I, personally, like my schools system (7 periods a day), but I can definitely see the advantages to block schedule.
