My first day is next monday The 27th Good luck!

You guys start school so early. I start September 5th.

“Backtoschool” night today. School starts next Monday.

I haven’t done any practice PSAT. I really should do one so I know where I’m at. I hope I can get above 210 or something.

@IAmSoAmbitious, what did you get in different categories in your PSAT?
When I did the SAT two years ago, I got 620 in math. I know I can do a lot better than that in math by now. But I’m not sure about CR.

Any other sophomores still 14?

Nope. I turned 15 in April. I still can’t get over the fact that I could of been in 11th grade this year if my parents had let me skip 2nd grade lol.

Thanks Alex and Imsoambitious really pleased with getting in.

Also I’m 16 haha, I was held back in 5th grade because … Well , it’s a long story, it had nothing to do with academics whatsoever though.

I’m really worried about AP Physics though!! Math From geometry-precal was pretty easy to me (had some trouble with algebra I though)… So I’m less worried about calculus… Biology was pretty hard for me but I finished with the highest grade in the class (94) and the top exam score (one or two other kids got the same score)… But I’m pretty scared for physics!! I don’t thin my nerves will quit till I get to class and see how it is. I which I could prep a little in this least week for it but everything is for studying for the ap exam and not the class.

I wish I could be that skilled in math. Instead I finished with a 98 in biology without trying, and struggled with geometry…VERY MUCH. Geometry was so hard for me. But I think you will do fine in AP Physics, you have a great math background that will help you a lot.

@UKGirl, turned 15 today :D

I have two more days of 14, and happy birthday :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @crazyfrog821

Yeah a lot of people either thought geometry was super easy or really hard. And I’m glad I have a strength somewhere, I see all these people flying through history/social studies classes or languages and I find both particularly difficult :). Hopefully my math will help , that’s mainly why I’m not taking Chem because firstly, so many sophomores at my school do terrible in that class and next because it’s a lot more difficult science and alot less math while physics is the opposite

Haha next question : dream schools you guys?

I’m shooting for Princeton, Stanford , or Yale but if none of that works out I’ll probably go to UNC chapel hill (it’s super cheap for instate and it’s one of the only top schools I can afford) . Last year two students I know got accepted to MIT and Harvard so I know I have a chance at something top tier if I keep my grades perfect lol :)

UNC Chap and Elon (I can walk to elon lol) for the in state schools.

But I like a lot of schools:
Oxford and Cambridge even though they are in England
I like Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Princeton, I like stanford, but I don’t want to live in Cali. I also like Columbia :)

Either Harvard or Oxford, depending on what I study

@AlexHarper: Why don’t you want to live there?

Ehh, I am not prejudice in anyway, but there really is a big difference in the east coast west coast personality. When I went up there people were rude, no “pardon me” or “excuse me” and “ma’am and sir” were unheard of. It might just be a southern thing, I don’t know, but I didn’t enjoy whatever it was. I know a lot of my schools are up north and I haven’t really been past virginia, so we’ll see how that goes. Plus, California is expensive! And if I’m already paying for stanford, thats a lot of money.

Certain parts of the south are unfriendly as well. Where I live, neighbors don’t even wave or smile at you :(

I got perfect for all categories on PSAT, no questions incorrect. And I dont think Physics B is very hard, If your in calc you should have no problem.

and the Northeast is nothing like that Alex. No ones speaks like that, it is sort of odd that way. I like The Ivies, MIT, CIT, Cmu, Stanford, Vandy, BC, duke, NWU, Rice, Williams, Amherst, Pomona, UMich, Stern, Berkley…

I’ve lived in California since I was two, and people are very friendly. I don’t think they’re trying to be rude when they don’t say things like “sir” or “ma’am”; to me, and probably to the rest of us Californians, it just seems needlessly formal to do so. Maybe we’re just more laid back? Haha.

Yep. And i will be for another 2 months.
