High School Class of 2015

[I</a> sang this to my friend at work - Funtasti](http://www.funtasti.com/gag/4216)

Extra letters like ou just means more for me to type, Webster was brilliant. Haha.

Now only 3 weeks (15 days) of school, AND THEN CHRISTMAS BREAK! Or “Winter break” as the school system makes us call it. Our Christmas break is ridiculously long this year, like 2 weeks. Plus weekends.

@UKGirl23: can you give some examples of British humor vs American? I don’t understand exactly what you mean, but that’s probably because I’ve never talked to someone who’s British :)

I have been getting tons of college letters since freshman year. The best one I have gotten is from Duke University. They gave me a cool poster.

CE527M in most Long Island schools we have a 1-week Christmas Break in December and then a 1-week Winter Break right after mid-terms in January/February

I watch fawlty towers UK. Does that count?

@petlover We normally have a break in January for a couple days tagged onto MLK day off. At the end of the semester.

No ideas on AP Chem? :(

Sorry Teaspoons!

Yes, AP Chem is a good idea, colleges seem to like AP science it seems like. Just be sure you work hard in the class, I
m sure you will, but at my school at least, it
s one of the rougher APs.

Haha, wow. This is why the internet needs to have better titles for their news articles. I saw something that said, “The president is trying to change the country`s name” and I was like, “What??” and they were talking about MEXICO. Apparently Mexico is officially know as the “United Mexican States” and their president wants it changed to just “Mexico” because he think it copy cats us. Wow, that was funny.

It’s cool CEM  thanks… It’s a hard decision cause I might completely flunk (or not get an A … Haha what has the world come to ; failing is basically getting a b or a c for me…) … Hopefully I do well on my APs this year! (It’ll help mold my ideas for next year…)

Teaspoons, I’m taking AP chem. I didn’t take H. chem. It is really hard! but I’m doing well in the class, getting a low A. Nobody in the class is getting high A anyway. You can do it. But still I think it’d be better to take h. chem in junior year and AP chem in senior year, if this plan works for you.
What science class do you take in junior year? what science are you doing this year?

@shmluza last year was honors bio and this year it’s ap physics b (mostly because I didn’t want to take chem, and thought why not take ap physics … I wouldn’t have minded honors physics but that’s just how it ended up). Next year AP earth (or environmental science, we just call it ap earth) and then senior year ap bio… And I’m hoping for chem too

Senior year there’s a lack of classes I can take (that aren’t electives like art…) ap English , ap Calc BC, ap bio… Ap French 5… Student council… Possibly ap computer science idk. But really that’s all that’s left besides ap chem (and ap euro and gov which I’m less interested in). Thanks for the advice though!!

Teaspoons, if you’re taking AP physics this year, you should be fine with AP chem, even without honors chem, because chem has a lot to do with physics. you still need to work hard though, (I’m sure you will) because I’ve heard many say AP chem is harder than AP physics.

I took AP Gov last year. I’ve never got an A in any of the exams. In fact, I got Cs or even Ds in most of the in class exams. But I got an A for the class and a 5 in the national exam. :D

…clear!
Luckily I had a defib on hand…

Have you guys ever thought about not going to college. Me and my friends were eating at Taco Bell talking about school and stuff (Me, one other sophomore, and 2 seniors.) Some lady heard us talking, and started talking about how “smart” we sound. She apparently runs a large Animal Non Profit or something and she’s running for mayor. Then she added “And I did it all without college.”

So we started talking after that about what if you were offered a six figure income out of HS. Senior #1 couldnt decide. Senior #2 said she’d take it. Sophomore said she wouldn’t. And I responded with a joke that I’m not even gonna finish High School, but I actually wouldnt take it.

So would you guys take a large salary straight out of HS?

^ That`s an interesting question posed. Depends if the salary would last, or if it was a 1 year or short term thing. 100k right out of school would be nice, but not if I was only receiving it for a couple of years.

College gives a degree, and a lot of jobs won
t hire these days without a BS or BA, at least, and it
s only going to get worse. This isn
t 1967 anymore. I feel like college will do a lot more for me than not going ever would, especially since it
s not as generic like high school is, and I can take the classes I want, and while there are some required classes, not as many. More of what we want, less of what the school says we have to do, you know?

So long story short, no.

I ain’t no Harry Truman, how am I gonna be president without a degree haha

I would. Though unless it like a thing tat rhymes with corn and ends graphy.

Honestly, College has become widespread because so many high schools suck. They offer water downed courses yet call them college prep. If they focused on 3-4 classes a year on English, Social Studies, Math, and Science along with a technilogical and career based classes many college would become uneccessary.

You could become a liscened Mechanic, Drafter, Paraleagal etc without having to get a degree.

Or we could continue down this path and soon Mickey D’s will require a B.S. in Hamburger Technology
