High School Class of 2015

Ours is cancelled too /:

Ahhh… My mile time is terrible, partially since I had that chest problem… The faster I go the more uncomfortable I feel (chest pain… But I’ve been all checked out by doctors so its fine… But it might get better over time since its gotten better over time) but generally if I take some pain meds before running there no pain just your regular stuff (out of breath etc)… Anyways my mile time seriously is bad so I’ll really have to work on it… (To give you an estimate my goal right now is getting to ten minutes… I haven’t run 1 mile yet but in my 2-3 mile runs have been a pace of around 12ish with hills–I know it’s bad)

Another week done… Calculus is still pretty easy for me, finally have an a in ap psych, physics is getting harder (fluids and thermodynamics… I have just not been paying attention), I never turned in a paper I had due for ceramics I … English kinda sucks right now but I think I’ll manage an A… Yeah, hope I can maintain it all through senior year …

I can still manage a 6 minute 1500m (we don’t do miles) I think, although I stopped running a year ago. I have asthma, but it only affects my running a little, and generally only on the longer distance XCs.
I sometimes get chest pains or stitches in my abdomen, stomach or shoulder just from cramping or breathing pattern, are you sure you’re probelm isn’t just this? Personally I wouldn’t take painkillers before you run, unless you have a specific injury. Also I think it may be illegal in some meets.

Only 3 weeks until xmas break! Getting really excited now  is anyone else going on holiday?

I got into a boarding school for 6th form!!! After this and a day school acceptance on thursday, I’ve got two out of two so far, and another two to come next week!
Just crazily hyped about this, I can’t believe I actually did it :O

^Congrats.

Last day of school before break is the 14th!

@Teaspoons…just keep working at it. You don’t have to be the fastest to have fun. Seriously, I don’t run track so much for the competitive aspect, I just run to have fun, and everyone is really supportive. No one really cares if you are fast or slow.

Hey Teaspoons dont feel bad, my fastet mile run is 6:55. However, i run long distance like 5-10 miles keeping up an 7:45 pace. Are you maybe a long distance runner?

@UK, no it’s different, I’ve felt the stitch thing in my side one or twice (but I haven’t felt it since I’ve picked up running). This is more like… If I’m jumping or jogging or bouncing I get this pain in my chest near my heart… It doesn’t happen when walking (I had a test where I had to walk on a super steep incline at 4.5/5 miles an hour for 15minutes and there was no pain just really out of breath), or doing high intensity cycling (except sometimes it happened when we’d go from the seat to standing/jogging position really fast over a period of time), or any other exercise. I had a work up done on my heart and I had asthma tests and stress tests–they ruled out everything they could think of. Once I tried to run through the pain and ten minutes after the run (my breath caught and all) I felt extremely light headed… If I didn’t take the meds I don’t think I could manage.

Thanks to everybody though, I’m in it because I enjoy it and the EC boost it gives me. I definitely prefer distance but I think I’m convinced to do the 400 m as my event (my friend is a 400m runner and pretty good… She also is a long distance runner and ran her first half marathon in 1:43… So I think it’ll be okay if I donors long an short especially if I’m not ‘in it to win it’).

I’m nervous about getting my pre ACT scores back aswell as my PSAT scores … Hopefully they’re decent …

I run cross country but I play soccer in the spring, so I don’t do track. Don’t get so discouraged, Teaspoons! I promise it will get easier for you if you keep at it.

I used to be a terrible runner in my early years when I only played soccer. Then I started running on my own a little bit. For soccer we are encouraged to run a 6:00 mile, and two summers ago I could never get the hang of it. I ran it in 8:00. But since I joined XC and did a lot of mileage over summer, I managed to run a 6:04 mile. I now run a 21:36 5K and run in the off-season to stay in shape. Good luck at track!

This break I’m asking for a lot of ACT prep guides. The SAT is not really my thing, considering my 1750 practice tests. I’m kinda dreading my PSAT scores. I’ve taken some ACT practice and get 32s in reading and English, but my math and science scores hold me back. Any tips? :/

^Study harder…?

So what do you guys want for Christmas? Or Hanukkah? Or whatever holiday it is you celebrate?

Let’s see, for Christmas, I could really use a new bike. I bike a lot whenever I’'m not running. Also, books (Killing Kennedy and Flyboys among other things), renewal to Runner’s World, and not much else.

Well, besides that…

For Christmas, I want a new alarm-clock dock for my phone, a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard Student and Teacher Edition for my home computer, and a good score on the PSAT (not that it matters yet, haha).

@flapjacks, thanks! And about your math score just utilize what you know and have. Go through the whole thing and quickly do all the ones you know (and are sure you got right) and then go back and tackle the other ones. You can always plug in the answers given and see which ones right if you have no clue (and time to spare). Once you’ve gone through go back and check the answers to the ones that were harder (since if you guess and get it wrong it doesn’t count against you; better guess and do all of the problems then work through the first half and leave a ton blank). Also I’d just work on some practice problems (for accuracy but also for speed; if math isn’t your forte then extra time will really benefit you).

@CEM, for Christmas I’d love a new computer (pretty sure I’m getting it), some new Clark’s and toms, Nike tempo shorts … One of those arm bands or something so it’s easier to hold my iPhone while running… iTunes gift cards… And Straight A’s :)

I would like a device that allows me to talk over a mhz frequency to my parents that are 30 minutes that so and so meeting end 25 minutes early and i need you to come now.

I wonder if anyone knows what i am talking about

Anyone know when in Dec. we get our PSAT scores?

me neither - let’s pray for PSAT scores to be here Monday! I know I’m asking too much.

@kypdurron…cell phone, I win.

@Teaspoons…http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2227440...I</a> have them in the seaweed/electric green color (that sounds ugly on paper) they are awesome.

@Teaspoons Thanks, I think my main issue with math is speed and also because I have not taken pre-calc yet. :b

I’m dreading the PSAT scores. -.-
