@petlover that isn’t that bad a comment, it means they think your msarter than your grade shows :)

I fell asleep while watching Merlin last night, hence no update. I’m about 3 episodes behing schedule, so I have to watch at least 10 today!

@Ukgirl23 …

…Now Im curious about watching Merlin

It’s amazing! Like a different retelling of the Arthurian legends with Bradley Cooper, Colin Morgan and Alexander Vlahos, which adds a lot :D

Should’ve known that this thread would have 4 more pages after my absence for a couple of days haha. Anyway, for people asking about Cali, I live in NorCal pretty close to San Francisco in the Bay Area. By the way, the weather in Cali is completely overrated! Right now, my town is flooding from all the rain, but yes Stanford has ridiculously nice weather  I heard that there was less than a week of rain last year at Stanford! Also, the rain in my town is mostly just because I’m up north, so it’s generally colder with more rain; down south, on the other hand… Beaches and nice weather all year round haha! And my username is quite exaggerated. I’m not REALLY obsessed with any college in particular, but my mind always fails me when it comes to thinking of creative usernames :P

(MIT is still better than CalTech though) :D

I like rain :p

Merlin update: It’s not looking good guys. I was 3 episodes short yesterday, meaning I have to stay up until 3 tonight if I’m going to have any chnace of finishing before the final episode tomorrow night. So I’ll be online for the next 5 hours :)

Judging from your location, I would hope you’d like rain  lol but it’s getting scary guys. I was watching football on TV, and they stopped the program to announce that no one is allowed to go outside! There are flash floods throughout my county, and my pool is about to overflow… Ah, well it’s kind of exciting compared to the usual boredom from a small town :P

By the way, does our post counts go up from posting in this thread? I only ask because I know that in the parent cafe, their post counts are not affected by posting there.

No, post counts aren’t affected by hsl.

We’re having floods all over the country as well, I have a friend who lives on the banks of the Thames and her front garden is 4 feet underwater!

If I had my post count go up every time I posted in HSL, I’d be a senior member by now.

@MITobsession, who’s your favorite football team?

I don’t get why American Football is at all interesting. It’s like rugby but with more stops, less contact and more body armour. Also a weird ball.

I think rugby would be fun to play, if I could ever learn how the heck it works.

I don’t know, it’s the “classic American sport” that’s why people love it. Because rugby never really caught on here.

I love football (49ers!) , but still don’t understand our country’s obsession with baseball.

Fair enough, I love rugby and wish I could play too. I only started wanting to play when I was around 11, which was the time that boys and girls have to split, and there isn’t a local girls club. My school only takes those with prior experience.

Nobody understands your country’s obsession with baseball.

Uh, Baseball is the great American sport which has a lot of history behind it and is the greatest sport in the world!!!

How so? It lasts for hours and is even worse than cricket. Just dull. Also, if it was so great how come only the US and Cuba play it? Your world series is internal for heavens sake!

What do you mean by “internal”.

You are right, it can be dull since games last 2+ house, but it’s awesome because there are different positions, every player plays an important role, and anything can happen. If a guy doesn’t catch the ball, then the runner on base has a chance of not getting out, or scoring, anything can happen anytime. Plus it’s just a lot of fun to go to games, the atmosphere is awesome.

Only done within the country. External-outside, internal-inside

Yeah that’s what I thought.

How come the U.S doesn’t play cricket?
