I’ll apply to prep schools either for 11th or 12th grade. I know… that’s QUITE late but, oh well. Hopefully, they would give me full aid because, my families income is >50,000 a year.

prep school urggghhh

^What are you,“urggghhhing,” about?

Ifax: Glad to see you agree.
Koolaidmanjacob: I heard that it’s not beneficial to switch schools during high school in 11th or 12th, because it makes your admissions process 10 times as much complicated.

Hello, I’m a rising freshman. It’s nice to see a Class of 2015 thread. How are your guy’s opinions on the Kindle? I personally LOVE mine TO DEATH!!!

Just so we can ensure that everyone on here is smarter than Sarah Palin.
Name TWO Supreme Court cases which you disagree with, and cases that are moot don’t count (such as Plessy or Dred Scott).
I’ll just name some that I disagree with: Gonzales v Raich and Bush V Gore, Gregg v Georgia, Ward v Rock Against Racism, and Ashcroft v Iqbal.

Iluvupenn: I don’t have a kindle, sorry. What about iPods? LOL

Sure! My iPod Touch has been though alot! It’s almost dead, :‘( :’(

For some reason, mine lost internet connections…in a wifi zone.
I’m getting it fixed soon.

I wish iPods/iPhones had adobe!!! It frustrates me sooo much that it doesn’t have it!

^Why? Adobe is Adobe reader and such?

Watcha think? Challenging enough? My really competitive public school offers over 20 ap classes but I don’t wanna take all of those. Oh and I’m pretty sure I’ll do well on the SAT because I took it this year and got a 2030. I’m aiming for places like UVA (instate), USC , UCLA, NYU, and maybe Georgetown for my reach (double legacy).

Dang that was long :P

^Welcome to the thread.
Nice schedule. I think I’ll be taking AP World, Chem, APUSH, and the AP English classes the same time you’ll be (if it’s Language in 11th and Lit in 12th).
My school offers almost all of the AP classes involved, and like yours, it’s a really competitive public school.
Haha, I like Georgetown too.

Thanks!
Yeah people in my high school take like 34801447109 AP classes and have great ECs. It’s hard to stand out.
Georgetown is awesome! I don’t really think I’d get in, but my parents say the double legacy thing will help a lot. Does anyone know how much of an impact legacies have in admissions?

News! I’ve been placed in Spanish 3 instead of Honors Spanish 2! This makes me happy.

@caramelcorn Welcome!

^^I don’t know about Georgetown, but at Harvard the acceptance rate for a legacy like me would be 30% instead of 6%

^^^At G-Town, being a legacy doesn’t help as much as it would in the Ivies, but it definitely helps. Of course, it can’t compensate for lousy grades and test scores.
^Golf, I seriously doubt that’s the case. I would estimate the legacy acceptance rate to be about 15%, not twice that at 30%.

@iluvpenn,
My dad has one and he really likes it. Idk, I might get one. Personally, I get pretty sentimental about holding an actual book. That’s just me.

its 30%

@ifax108 I wanted one for like 5 weeks and then it passed. When I opened one of my Christmas gifts… it was a Kindle. I actually read ALL the time now.
I tried to read War and Peace… 10 minutes later, I ended up here. :P
