High school class of 2016

I’m taking the ACT in December and the PSAT this week. I’m also applying to MIT’s PRIMES. So far I’ve solved 3 general math problems and am currently working on the CS section. Anyone else applying?

I feel so inadequate. I have just been going over random PSAT practice questions while telling myself a bad score is not the end of the world. I am much more worried about the SAT next month.

Was planning to take the SAT in November, but pushed it back. Can’t be sure I can get a good score, and the deadline just passed, so looks like I’m having another month.

I’m more worried about SAT IIs though. Since I found out admissions don’t look at your AP scores, I’m left with a stronger desire to have good SAT II scores. I always thought AP could replace those SAT ones.

Hmph. I just want to skip high school and go straight to college. I really want to become a teacher…

ACT in T-minus 13 days… guess who hasn’t even started studying!

@Woandering: I was going to go for the November SAT too, but it’s just not happening for me either. :/

I’m really worried about the PSAT, ugh. Those identifying sentence error questions get me every single time. The cutoff for my state was like 219 or something a little higher this year. I wish I could move somewhere where the highest is like a 203. :confused:

Have any of you guys been prepping for the PSAT? I just realized that it’s in like three days, and I’ve done like no prep :/

All my prep has been math, but reading’s my next target. And as nice as being a finalist/semifinalist would be, I’ll be happy with a Letter of Commendation, which I’m only… 12 points off getting, if I remember correctly. So it’s doable, considering that A) I’ve taken it twice already and B) that’s how much my score went up from freshman to sophomore year.

Just took a practice test to cram some last minute prep in.

procrastination

Side note: that writing curve is freaking ridiculous.

@TeamRocketGrunt‌
I haven’t done any prep just hoping for another 18 point jump.

The only prep I’ve done is the test I just took lol. I need to have better work ethic, but eh.

Lol. Does anyone else have midterms this week? I have midterms AND PSAT this week…yay…

I have a break this week :)

@tacoperson123‌ Midterms already??? We just finished the first half of our first quarter…

Yes, my school runs under block-scheduling, which means that we have classes for one semester. We started this school year 8 weeks ago, and the 8th week is usually mid-term week.

Does anyone know where I can find real PSAT practice tests? The only ones I have are the two from last year and this year. I can’t seem to find any before 2013. :(

Well…I took the October 11 SAT, so I haven’t studied for the PSAT at all.
Hopefully I don’t fail.

Hey guys! Anyone here a recruited athlete? I’m meeting with the MIT coach soon and I’m, needless to say, a bit nervous. Any tips?

Sadly, no, @emilymclean1 , but I know several people who are. What sport, if you don’t mind me asking?

@ThatPurpleKoala‌ track and cross country!
