@Ngzk07 @zuminskee @QuirkyClarkie Hello!

@TeamRocketGrunt @Woandering:

Clark Scholars actually wasn’t on my list, but I think I’ll go ahead and apply. It’s still in-state so I’m crossing my fingers and hoping my parents wil let me go if they accept me (which is pretty much a long shot haha). I haven’t looked thoroughly at anything yet, though, so I’ll let you know about specificity, @Woandering.

Also: you both might as well apply to TASP! I think it is pretty humanities but it’s worth it. I haven’t started anything yet either, so no worries. I think it’ll be an incredible opportunity if any of us gets accepted.

@Ngzk07: Welcome to the partay!

//

I’ve been doing SAT Practice and learning CSS all day today, and my brain is absolutely fried. Oof. I need to go watch some reality TV or something.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Trying to enjoy this winter break but I’m still freaking out about how bad my sat score is. To anyone that’s struggled on the math section, what do you guys use to improve? I have the blue book and do the daily question of the day but I feel like its not enough. ~_~

I hate feeling brain tired…

I’m spending my winter break in blissful ignorance of responsibility.

@awakeningvenus

.-.

@Woandering Lol, I /tried/ to be productive today. I took an online exam for computer science and did one other assignment, so that counts for something. I’ll probably do some homework tomorrow, and write a speech for some contest. But I’ll be honest, I’ve spent the bulk of my time sleeping and playing on my PSP.

@awakeningvenus

Not judging lol. I’ve basically done the same. My mom’s put a deadline on my homework (must be done by 31st) though, so I really gotta get a move on.

@Woandering Tbh it’s so hard to be motivated after stressing out the whole semester. But I’ll get bored of doing nothing soon enough.

You guys have hw over break? That sucks…

I just took an SAT practice test and I did’nt even bother to read the passages and got a 700 in CR… how… Not my highest score(740) but how…

Hey guys! Quick question: my school didn’t have algebra in 8th grade, so I am stuck a year behind in math. I want to be an engineer, so AP Calc is pretty much a necessity. To get in I must take a Precalc class over the summer. I also want to do research/ a summer program… Anyway, do you think it would be feasible to do both in the summer? Alternative suggestions would be welcomed too!

@emtfxc

Self study AP Cal. You don’t need much pre-cal knowledge for cal, so you could start right now.

@emtfxc
I know @TeamRocketGrunt suggests that a lot, but I’ve got to disagree on self-studying AP Calc. Does your school force you to take an official class for Pre-Cal, or can you just take a test? I would suggest self-studying Pre-Calc. You want to take AP Calc as a class for colleges anyway. AP scores play less of a role than AP classes.

If you want to be an engineer m8, you’re going to have to get really comfortable with calculus and other higher maths. Self-teaching calculus is a very valuable experience.

Who all is taking the January 2015 SAT?? I feel like everyone I know is taking it then… I’ve been forcing myself to study some each day over break…but it’s so hard to concentrate…

Also, what subject tests is everyone taking??

Thanks @TeamRocketGrunt and @Woandering ! My school is making me take an official class for precalc, unfortunately. I would have liked to self study but they’re really strict about that kind of stuff.

@ABCGIRL I’m taking the January SAT, and yeah I find it really difficult to study now, especially since with all this free time, I’ve been binge watching a lot of TV shows.
I also plan on taking the Math 2 in March, Physics, and either US History or Chem. I’ve already taken the SAT 2 Chinese last year but it doesn’t really count as anything since I’m ethnically Chinese.

@alzhao OMG…i’ve been binge watching tv shows (K-dramas) and plan on taking US history or Chem as well since i’m in APUSH and AP Chem
