High school class of 2016

Does anyone live in North Carolina? I’m so happy that they are paying for our AP exams.

Dream Schools: Stanford, MIT, Duke
Match: UNC Chapel Hill, NCSU, Georgia Tech
Safeties: UNC Charlotte

At first, I really wanted to go to MIT, but now I kinda just want to stay here. I can afford it, I have friends here, and it is not as cold.

I can’t decide what I want to do with my life, so I don’t know which major to go into, so I don’t know which college to apply to.

fmI

Some colleges I’m interested in
Dream: Yale, Duke, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Brown
Match: UVA, William and Mary, BC
Safety: VCU, GMU, JMU

In other news, I went from a sophomore PSAT score (no studying) of a 165 to a junior year PSAT score (with literally 5 days of non-intensive studying over the summer) of 203. That was a bigger jump than I ever expected.

Congrats @Slytherclaw12! Which section did you get the biggest increase in?

@Slytherclaw12 Niceee I just went from 178 to 196. Still happy about it though.

FR PSAT: 231 SO SAT: 2210 JU SAT: 2310

It’s depressing to think that I took 2 years to get the SAT equivalent of my PSAT score…

Anyway jumping on the college list bandwagon (I’ve done a ton of thinking, and my list has already changed about 10 times):

Dream: Claremont McKenna and Cambridge (St John’s College)
Other reaches: Harvard, Stanford, Cornell, Duke + 4 UK top schools, just bc I don’t need to do or pay anything extra.
Matches: Bucknell, Colgate, + definitely 1 more that I haven’t decided on.
Safety: URochester (match-ish safety) + 1/2 overseas schools.

My list is top heavy. Sue me.

PSAT*

Sophomore: 1800
Junior: 2030

*converted into SAT score.

Taking the SAT 3x in March, June, and possible a day in one month of senior year if needed.

May? No thank you! Got AP tests to study for.

Good luck to everyone on the SAT! bows

I haven’t been on CC for a while- but here goes a rough draft of my college list.

Reach: Princeton, Dartmouth, WashU, Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins
Match: Georgia Tech, William and Mary
Safety: Ohio State, UCincinnati

I definitely need more matches…

@SippinCoffee‌ - Same, I have no idea what I want to major in anymore, which is making picking colleges really difficult. I used to think that I had a vague idea, but now everything’s open. I just know that I don’t want to go into English/history. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, rough draft of my college list:

Stanford, Duke, Cornell, Caltech, MIT, Penn (?? a bit too preprofessional), Berkeley, USC, UCLA, University of Rochester

I’m thinking about math. That narrows it down for me.

@HeyItsNick‌ My largest increase was in Writing where I went from a 53 to a 78. Haha I’m still not sure how that’s possible.

Dream: UCLA (pretty sure this is a match for me though) UPENN
Also applying to Harvey Mudd (match), UCB (match I think), UCSD(match), UCSB (safety), Stanford (reach), Cal Poly Slo (match), USC (match), and SDSU (safety)

@LordBendtner‌
Don’t think UCB and Harvey Mudd are a match for anyone

@Woandering I thought they were both similar to UCLA

Got a 209 on my PSAT, which is way better than last year’s 186  .Anyways, my college list looks like this:

Dream: UPenn, Georgetown (both high reaches)
Match: American University
Safety: Rider University

…Yeah, I think I might need more colleges :stuck_out_tongue: - I’m welcome to any suggestions for International Relations/Business-y colleges! *wink wink *

Is anyone else in the same boat?

I think I want to major in English and computer science, though it changes every month.

Dream Schools: Princeton
High Match: Northwestern? Carnegie Mellon?
Match Schools: I’m not actually sure. Probably McGill, U of T or Waterloo
Safety: ??? haha (help me out here, please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1728298-match-high-match-schools-help.html)

All I know is that I want to major in Engineering and study history

Haha, still not entirely sure, but I think I want to go into biomedical engineering

Dream: John Hopkins University, MIT, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Columbia University
Match: Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Florida, University of Miami
Safety: University of Central Florida

@LordBendtner‌

I wouldnt lightly say UCLA is a match for anyone either, but I dont know you. UCB is a little harder, and Harvey Mudd is even harder. They’re not the same.
