Quick general question open to all but has anyone NOT taken the SAT and are planning on applying to well known universities?
(Ivy’s, Stanford, UC’s,etc.)
I know some require both ACT + SAT, but for the many that give the
either/or option, should I still take the SAT?

@epoque Major in Computer Science actually. You should take the SAT if you know you could do good at the test. If it is required then of course take it.

@Woandering I’m sorry let me rephrase on the question I guess what I mean to say was should i take the SAT? do
colleges prefer you have taken both ACT/SAT as opposed to either/or?
@epoque I think almost every single college in the US (except one of the Cal Polys, if I remember correctly) has no preference either way for ACT vs. SAT, so if you don’t feel comfortable taking the SAT then don’t take it. I struggled with practice SATs and the PSAT so I didn’t sign up to take the SAT, but I’m still aiming pretty high (Northwesten and WashU St. Louis). As far as Stanford goes, since they require all scores to be sent, I don’t think it’d be worth it if you’re not confident you could get AT LEAST a 2050-2100+ on the SAT.
@epoque It isn’t worth it. The SAT isn’t offered again until October. It would cause you a lot of application stress.
If you have at least a 33 on the ACT, you’re good.
The Yale guidebook is so nice. I pretty much have a collection of college brochures/packets going now

I’m so lucky to have taken in an interest in something at a young age. My interest in meteorology is biological, I can’t not like it.
^me with business. Very lucky to know what I want to do, but unlucky that my mom thinks business school isn’t intellectual enough and doesn’t want to pay for it.
@ErenYeager If your mom is thinking undergraduate business school, I agree with her.
@Writer2020 If you’re interested in neuroscience, definitely go for it! It is offered at a bunch of schools as a major. I am interested in potentially majoring in it as well.
