I’m not paying for senior pictures. I have other things I could be spending that money on that don’t involve me and a camera. That combination never ends well.
We got senior photos already. We took them in May.
Taking them next month! The only pictures I’ll look good in after hours of editing
@QueenN22 - Yeah, thanks! Never had professional photos taken before; is it normal for them to charge you for the sit-in?
@XoXdreamerXoX - Same hahahah
@Gatortristan - Really hope they edit the crap out of my yearbook photo, otherwise I’m screwed
Took my senior photos about two weeks ago. My school has a deal with a local studio where you have to go if you want your picture in the yearbook, but you don’t have to order pictures from them if you don’t want to. Most people pay to sit for the yearbook pictures and then take and order their pictures from a different photographer.
@gonewiththeair I’d say bring a more formal outfit for whatever shot would be going in the yearbook and a more casual outfit for other pictures. I’d say keep the makeup and hair natural-looking so it’ll go with more outfits and so it doesn’t start to melt off under the camera lights. The biggest thing is to just relax – it’s really not that bad. Plus the more relaxed you are, the more natural your smile will be and the faster it’ll go so you can finish sooner, lol
Food for thought: Yale admissions officer said “if you don’t report an AP score, I’m going to assume that you got a 1”.
@glasshours When did this occur?
Huh? @glasshours that seems a bit harsh considering people don’t take APs for various reasons
@Princetonian2020 I think what he/she is saying is that if you got a 3 but didn’t report it, not if you didn’t take the test.
@anonemuss - From a friend who heard it during an info session – she’s now a student there
@Princetonian2020 - Yep, what @anonemuss said. So for anyone contemplating whether or not to submit a 4, there you go; it’s not the end of the world!
A 4 is amazing on any AP test, even a 3 is, considering the vast majority of test takers don’t even get 3’s. Don’t be an over-acheiver and just report the score!
Yeah I agree about sending a 3. I know a couple posts back I said I wasn’t going to send them but 1) I reached the minimum AP tests needed to get distinction, so they will probably know I withheld scores instead of not being able to take the test
2) @jdschooled5 is right. A 3 is great, we are all just a bunch of overachieving worryworts
I think I should avoid reporting my 2 on AP Physics 1.
Well I have officially decided where I am applying. Now I just have to write the essays and do AP summer work. Senior pictures are next week. Not super excited-I don’t like getting my picture taken.
My senior picture is tomorrow, and I haven’t done anything related to school (besides college essays) yet. #StopProcrastination2k15
I can’t speak for @glasshours , but I had a Yale AO tell me the same thing this year.
So that would mean, at least for Yale and probably other top colleges, that AP scores play a part in admissions.
Yale is the first college I’ve heard say this.
I wouldn’t infer that, but YMMV. I would assume that for Yale, and perhaps other top colleges, AP scores help validate the rigor of the AP class.
