School starts in a week and I’m trying to transfer
How many essays have you all written so far?
Zeroooo
Finished the last first day of school ~:> . It feels like I never left. Seriously, because IB, we’re literally continuing the curriculum from where we left it in June, so I have the same classes and teachers as last year. This means we have no breaks on assignments:1 IA due Wed, 1 IA due next Tuesday, 2 tests in the next two weeks and these are only 4/6 of my classes. Blegh, sorry for the rant -.- I’m just blown away by the work already.
@Katecat27 How’d your first day go?
I’m gonna feel the same way in two weeks @QuirkyClarkie. You’re not alone.
I have so many essays to write
Zero. Ill have a bunch to do when school starts, though.
Holy crap, you guys start early. I start in 2 weeks.
I had a summer internship, and during the school year I have half my classes (only 2 in the morning), then I leave for work. Even better, one of my classes is a dual enrolment class (my first class in the morning) that is only 2 days a week.
So, 3 out of 5 days a week, I get an extra hour of sleep, stay in for only one class, and get the heck outta there. Pretty sweet
Wow, one more week left until senior year, bittersweet feelings. :-?
I have exactly 4 weeks and 1 day left…it still feels like summer just started, honestly.
Should start writing supplements, but bleh
YAAAAAAY. I’m a National Hispanic Scholar. College Board mail is always good news.
Woah I start in 4 weeks you guys start early.
Kinda shocked about the Sal comment. I am friends with the current Val at my school and she’s super nice and would help you out with any assignment.
I go back to school in exactly one week. Can’t say I’m too thrilled, but I’m excited to get the year started so I can get ready for Uni~!
@ErenYeager Our Val isn’t exactly peachy either. She’ll talk behind people’s backs about how they think they’re all that because of any accomplishments they have.
However, our Sal specifically targets me for verbal abuse. Probably because I became my teachers’ ‘favorite’. He got to the point that he’s doing everything to find out what colleges I’m applying to so he can apply to them as well and I won’t stand a chance. He’s said multiple times that someone like me shouldn’t have a chance at the colleges I wish to go to. When a mutual friend told me this, I was kind of crushed. My top choice isn’t something I’m willing to sacrifice over his pettiness.
@XoXdreamerXoX - Holy crap. Glad I don’t go to your school. The probable val at my school is super nice and humble.
Congrats on National Hispanic Scholar and good luck with your apps! I hope he gets rejected from all your schools (if he’s really that bad of a person, he frankly deserves it), and you get accepted into all/most of them
@XoXdreamerXoX report him to guidance for bullying you that would really look good on his counselor recommendation letter
@2016senior Eh. At my school, it’s every man to himself. If you report ANYBODY, you’ll get chased down and beat up or something. That’s why we have such a big drug and marijuana use problem on campus.
Thanks @glasshours for your kind words. However, all I’m hoping is that the fact that he’s applying won’t change my chance of getting accepted. I am, as of my first semester transcript for junior year, 15 spots below him. I’m probably around 11 or 12 below him now, but that won’t make it any easier on me if he finds out.
@XoXdreamerXoX why don’t you personally go up to him and literally lie about the schools you’re applying to. Make up a list of absolutely crappy schools and let him think he’s waaaaay better than you. Then when you get into your dream school you can just wait for him to fake congratulate you because he has to. That’s what college acceptances are about.
Unfortunately, it’s too late for that. My list is finalized and he knows because I have, well had, a terrible friend.
I’ve had more than enough fake congratulations from him. From being a Questbridge College Prep Scholar to lettering as the best female student in the physics department. [-O< I just hope he gives me space after the fact that I told him my life is none of his business.
@XoXdreamerXoX Sorry I just came across the thread and saw that you were talking about this… I can’t help but interject because as a matter of fact, the person who is trying to become Valedictorian at my school is one of the worst people I, or anyone else, has ever come across. Not only does he cheat but he is also very arrogant and rude towards everyone.
I just wanted you to know that I 100% understand where you are coming from!!! I hope it gets better for you! I know it’s hard to ignore the person, but to be totally honest, I think he might just be lying about applying to your schools because he wants to intimidate or scare you. Unless he’s a total loser with much time on his hands, he won’t go out of his way to apply to them. The important thing for him is to hurt you in that exact second and instill fear in the person. It’s just a common manipulation/intimidation tactic. Don’t pay any mind! Do your own thing Pretend he doesn’t exist. As hard as it is…
It might not happen now, but one day, very soon, when it matters, life will catch up to him.
