High school class of 2016

After 3 days of school…

[ul][]all but two of the people in AP Stats make me want to throw things
[
]I have no idea what’s going on in Spanish
[]both my humanities APs (Gov and Lit) aren’t too bad so far
[
]except for the part where I failed part of my Gov summer work
[]the really competitive set of twins I’m not big fans of are in three of my classes
[
]my physics class is HUGE (like 28 people) compared to the 12-13 average in my other classes
[]our journalism class can’t agree on the design for the school newspaper’s website
[
]my religion class is half people I can actually work with and half people that screw around constantly
[]the cafeteria got renovated so it’s now like half the size it was before yet has to hold just as many people
[
]the side of the builiding where the cafeteria is on has air conditioning while the other side of the building does not
[]my best friend dropped out of AP Lit because he had no clue what was happening in the class
[
]my other friend missed today as she got rushed to the ER last night[/ul]
So really, nothing too out of the ordinary yet.

also lol what’s an AP scholar award #didntmakeitbecauseofchemexam #whoops

Also, is your friend okay?!

First day of school and I got a parking ticket.

@1358531 thanks for the link!

and she’s fine, had to get a ton of stitches because she passed out and cut her forehead open, but she’s home from the hospital and doing a lot better.

@Writer2020 Oh man, but glad to hear she’s recovering!

@Writer2020 Glad to hear she’s doing better!

If I die because of my four AP classes, please tell my parents I love them and I wished we went to New York this summer (what I terribly missed opportunity) .

I’m still trying to figure out how I’ll get through 9 AP classes and 6 clubs. #nosleep

@kuriosmind I honestly feel as if you should just send it as a supplemental. I know you say it’s amazing, but from experience, essays like that end up talking less about the applicant, and more about why X school is so great. Additionally, even if you do talk about yourself, many schools are super paranoid about their yield rates. Why accept a student if you know you aren’t their first choice? I feel as if this would be more of an issue for your safeties if anything. Many schools don’t like being seen as safeties, and would rather accept students who truly love their school 100%, something that essay may lead them to believe otherwise.

Honestly, even if you use it on the common app, you should still be fine. If it was me though, I would just write a new essay. Good luck!

@Cornball Thanks for you input! Hopefully I’ll be able to write a more suitable essay for my common app. I’m probably going to apply to that school early action, though, so I might use it for the common app and change it if I have to apply to other schools. I think common app allows you to change your essay three times. Or will that seem like I’m trying too hard? It’s like saying “I like your school so much I’m sending this essay to all my other schools. I’m so bold and confident accept me already!”

@kuriosmind - Last year, CommonApp only let you edit your essay 3 times after the first submission so you could obviously rotate different essays for different schools. This year, you can edit as many times as you want!

AP Awards: An expression of gratitude from Collegeboard for your generous donations

@BasedBioGod Very true. But it’s just a title. It doesn’t cost them anything to give it out, but it costs money to take the tests.

@BasedBioGod Unless someone pays $300 for AP tests and fails every single one. Then there’s no expression of gratitude.

Lol, I get my AP tests subsidized <3

do we have to send official reports for AP scores or just self report them on the common app?

@Ergo20 Self Report

@Ergo20 Remember that you have to send them from collegeboard as well.

Unless required by the college (very rare), you only need to have the College Board send them, after admissions decisions, to the school you will be attending.
